This is our first trip to Koh Chang, even though it's close to our hometown in Trat province. We've never been before, and we only have a short amount of time, so we're going to spend a relaxing 3 days and 2 nights on the island.

Getting to Koh Chang from Bangkok

We traveled with Cherchai Tour from the Ekkamai Bus Terminal to Trat Bus Terminal. Then, we took a shared taxi to the Center Point Pier. The bus ticket, including the roundtrip ferry, cost 380 baht.

Note: Taking the ferry from Ao Thammachat Pier would be faster, but our bus ticket included the Center Point Pier ferry. It seemed easier, so we went with it. The ferry ticket costs 80 baht each way.

Tip: If you want to save time, take a van from Victory Monument. The bus we took was very slow, taking about 6 hours. The van takes about 4 hours.

We initially struggled to find the entrance to Lonely Beach, so we ended up entering at the far end of the beach. True to its name, Lonely Beach was incredibly peaceful and quiet. The beach on this side is mostly rocky.

Seeing the dark clouds gathering, we decided to head back to the hotel.
After settling in our room, we heard a knock on the door. It was the housekeeper, bringing us some snacks.

The afternoon and evening light is incredibly beautiful.

Once we are certain that it won't rain, we will head down to The Spa
