The Stupa of King Udombara (Linzingon udombara)

This site is believed to be the final resting place of King Udombara's ashes. In February 2013, an excavation uncovered remains within the stupa.

King Udombara was a king of Ayutthaya who was captured and taken to Burma as a prisoner of war during the fall of Ayutthaya in 1767. He remained a monk until his death.

The site is not open to the public and is surrounded by dense vegetation and a fence.

The journey is near the U Bein Bridge. You may need to open GPS and let the driver take you there.

This stupa resembles a royal palanquin in shape. Many people believe that the royal ashes are enshrined in this stupa, but this is not the case. The actual stupa containing the ashes is located nearby.
