Hello friends, this is the 4th travelogue of Number6.
This time, I'm taking you on a heavy-duty adventure. Throughout most of the journey, there was nothing but rain, rain, and more rain. On top of that, we encountered steep and challenging terrain that could be considered a test for even the most experienced riders. Okay, okay, I've boasted enough for two lines. Let's get into some details.
Ramkhamhaeng National Park, also known as "Khao Luang", encompasses Mount Narai (1,160 meters), Mount Phra Chedi (1,185 meters), Mount Phu Kha, and Mount Phra Mae Ya (1,200 meters above sea level). . . .
- * * Note: Many people may have experienced the difficulty. For me, this is the second time. Haha (because the first time I went, I didn't find anything. It was like I didn't arrive, so I had to come back again).
Next, I will discuss the starting point of the trip. #KhaoLuangSukhothai was truly magnificent (there are pictures to show on Facebook).
This hiking or adventure happened because I liked and followed the page #japa_travel and saw a post inviting or creating a group to hike at Khao Luang. So I immediately messaged to ask the price. Haha, just kidding. I messaged to ask if I could join the trip, and the reply I got was… "Wait a minute, closer to the date, message me again. Ja is forgetful."
As time passed, the page #Jatour also replied to inform the travel date. The conclusion was June 9-10, 61. A group was created with a small number of members, about 2 people, me and Ja. Oh, haha. As the day approached, more members joined, bringing the total to about 11 people to conquer Khao Luang. We had to prepare and divide tasks to work as a team, haha. But the truth is, there was nothing, not even a place or time to meet. Everyone went their separate ways. "Whoever arrives first finds a place to sleep first. Whoever arrives later, just follow them up," Ja said.
Along the way, I came across some beautiful views and stopped to take some photos, as is my custom. The distant, hazy mountains are Khao Luang.
Before entering the national park, I stopped by Si Satchanalai Historical Park for a leisurely stroll while waiting for the team to arrive.
We took a short walk at Si Satchanalai Historical Park before the rain started pouring heavily. We decided to grab some food before entering the park and bought supplies at Big C. After completing our errands, we left Big C and soon arrived at Ramkhamhaeng National Park. After registering with the park, I took out my camera and started taking pictures of the stars (hoping to see the legendary Milky Way, haha). This was a way to kill time while waiting for the rest of the group to arrive. We went to bed at midnight to prepare for our hike up the mountain in the morning.
Good morning, everyone! I woke up with a few red bumps on my body, thanks to the mosquitoes and insects that are more ferocious than dogs and ghosts in the park. We all went our separate ways to get ready and register for the hike. Today, there are almost 50 of us who will be sharing this experience (the area above can accommodate around 200 people). With everything prepared, we started our hike. Before we began, we took a historical photo to prove that we made it here, and hopefully, we'll make it back safely!
After a long and arduous climb, I reached the first rest stop. There was a natural spring where I could refill my water bottle. I took a sip and found the water to be cool and slightly sweet, perhaps due to my exhaustion.
Show me the picture, or else you'll think I'm not really eating!
This is a scenic viewpoint with a rest area and water refill station for travelers. I took out my camera and snapped some photos, including a shot of Sergeant's trusty drone. After a short break, I continued my journey.
After resting at the viewpoint where I refilled my water and took a break, everyone started walking up without forming any groups. We stopped at a large banyan tree, which symbolized that we were almost halfway there.
After the large banyan tree, it is not far to the top of the mountain, which is the camping site. The top of the mountain is convenient, similar to Phu Kradueng, but not to the point of having a barbecue service. The camping area is clean, and the bathroom is also clean. There may be some small animals, so be careful. We started choosing a place and setting up our tents to hurry up to see the sunset at Khao Chedi and Khao Mae Ya.
After settling into our accommodation, we embarked on a journey to witness the breathtaking sunset at Khao Chedi and Khao Mae Ya.
After enjoying the atmosphere and fresh air, we continued our journey to another destination: Khao Mae Ya. We were eager to witness the sunset, as we had heard that Khao Mae Ya offers the most stunning sunset views on Khao Luang, Sukhothai.
The sun, shyly refusing to set, showered us with rain instead. With no shelter in sight, we decided to walk back to our accommodation in the pouring rain.
And for our dinner, we had "bear hotpot," thanks to Sergeant and his comrades who had prepared it well.
Shortly after hearing the sound of the boat engine (sleeping with the sergeant, who snored terribly), the first light of dawn appeared in the sky, accompanied by thick fog. I thought to myself, "I guess there's no chance of seeing the sea of mist. I won't be able to see it." The sunrise on this trip wasn't worth it. After thinking to myself for a while, a voice suddenly said, "Should we go and see? We're already here anyway." Everyone then got up, did their personal business, and set off to Pha Narai to see if they could catch the sunrise and the sea of mist. It wasn't long before they reached Pha Narai, and the sight that greeted them was thick, white fog, with not even a glimpse of the sun. Haha.
After a long wait, with most of the other groups having already descended, we decided to head down to collect our belongings and begin our return journey. However, just as we were about to leave, the clouds parted, revealing a breathtaking vista of a vast, rolling sea of mist.
I couldn't stop pressing the button. In the end, I edited the image with vibrant colors, just the way I like it. I'll post it for you to see later.
Silence... Not pretty, don't say it, keep it to yourself, okay? Let's be considerate, haha.
After a fulfilling and enjoyable experience, we collected our belongings and embarked on our return journey.
Note: I didn't take any photos on the way back because my camera battery died. Haha. I won't tell you the details of my hike. Go experience it for yourself as a challenge in your life.
"Before we part ways, I would like to share with you the first photo I took during my trip."
The first time I went, there was no rain or fog, and the atmosphere was beautiful in a different way.
