History of Lungsan Salak Garden
Mr. Than Damruang, a visionary farmer, transformed his rubber and fruit plantations into a thriving salak farm, earning him numerous accolades. Driven by his passion for experimentation and progressive thinking, he embarked on a study trip to Surat Thani and Chanthaburi provinces in 2000. Inspired by his findings, he decided to convert his land for salak cultivation in 2001. He purchased 500 salak seedlings of the Nein Wong variety from Chanthaburi, marking the beginning of his successful salak venture.
The farm has expanded its salak plantation by 30 rai, while also improving the quality and management of the crop in accordance with academic principles. This has resulted in the farm receiving certification for its safe agricultural production and meeting GAP standards.

The Salak Orchard of Uncle Than
The Salak Orchard of Uncle Than is now open to visitors. Guests can witness demonstrations of salak pollination techniques, enjoy unlimited salak tasting, and even participate in the pollination process by writing their names, the date, and the year on the pollinated flowers.
Pistil, but not yet pollinated.

The male gametes are ready to fertilize the female gametes.
Pollination Process
The male pollen is rubbed against the female stigma, causing the pollen to fall onto the stigma. It takes nine months for the pollen to develop into a salak fruit that is ready to be eaten.

After pollination, the date is written on the pollinated flower to wait for another 9 months before the fruit can be harvested. This flower was not successfully pollinated, so it did not produce salak fruit and eventually withered.
This bunch of flowers was pollinated on February 8th. After 9 months, the salak fruit can be harvested in November.
The highlights of Lumphun Salak Garden are its cleanliness, lush greenery, and abundant fruit production throughout the year.
The Salak Uncle Than Garden offers a unique activity: a salak-eating competition for tourists, with the slogan "Tell me, eat fast, in the orchard."
The Salak Orchard of Uncle Than also offers food services, but you must contact Mr. Wichai Damruang (Uncle Than's son) to arrange this. In addition to visiting the orchard, you can also request a meal to be prepared. The meals are based on local cuisine, and the menu will vary depending on what the Salak Orchard of Uncle Than has prepared.
Boiled Chaya in Coconut Milk
Menu: Chicken curry with banana blossom
Stir-fried Curry with Mushrooms
This dish features a flavorful curry paste stir-fried with a variety of mushrooms. The link provided offers a visual reference for the dish.
Menu: Fried Mackerel
Shrimp paste chili dip with fresh vegetables
Each dish was incredibly delicious, so much so that I had to order seconds for the "Yai Ruai" dish. The flavors were spicy and authentic, true to the style of Southern Thai cuisine.
Freshly slaughtered, ready to serve and eat as much as you want
Normally, the villain doesn't like to eat salak because it tastes astringent. But the salak here doesn't taste astringent, it's a bit sweet and sour, and it's delicious. The villain ate several fruits.

Salak is still available for purchase at 100 baht per bag.
