In Southern Thai dialect, "หลาดใต้โหนด" refers to a local market. "หลาด" means "market" and "โหนด" refers to the "sugar palm tree".
Lad Tai Node is located in the area of Mr. Kanokpong Songsomphan, a SEA Write Award-winning writer in 1996. It is his birthplace and where he grew up. Mr. Kanokpong passed away in 2006, one of the legendary Thai writers with the nickname "The Eternal Young Writer".
Following the passing of Mr. Kanokpong, the Songsamphan family, along with close relatives and friends, transformed the property into a "Writer's House." This serves as a learning center for children and villagers in the community, as well as a venue for annual commemorative events in honor of Mr. Kanokpong's legacy.
Afterward, the Lad Tai Node Market was established based on the concept of "Green Market, Community Culture for Health," with the slogan "Food, Crafts, Art, Home." This market provides an opportunity for villagers and nearby residents to sell their goods, including local crafts and food.
South Node Market
The South Node Market is open only on Sundays from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. For more information, please call 085-654 480 or visit the Facebook page: กินดีมีสุข หลาดใต้โหนด.
