Long fascinated by the ocean, I finally had the opportunity to dive into its depths. Usually, my ocean experiences were limited to snorkeling at the surface. However, after seeing a video of people freediving, I became intrigued and decided to research it. I discovered that it was a form of diving without any breathing apparatus.
At first, I was a little scared because I wasn't a strong swimmer. But after taking the course, I realized that there was nothing to be afraid of. Even people who can't swim can learn, as long as they have a passion for it. As I was looking for information online, I came across the TDEX diving course. I looked into it and found Bigbubble Diving, so I contacted them to discuss the details. After talking to them, I immediately booked the course (because it was so affordable). I signed up for the Freediving Lv.1 course.
Day 1
This trip lasted 3 nights and 4 days, during which we studied at Bigbubble Diving on Koh Tao. We traveled by bus and Lomprayah ferry, departing at 9:00 PM from Khao San Road and arriving at Koh Tao around 8:45 AM. Upon arrival, a school van picked us up at the pier. After checking in at our accommodation, we registered for the course. The morning was free for us to relax, and classes began in the afternoon.
In the classroom, we haven't practiced swimming in the pool or the sea yet. This is because we need to learn various theories first, such as how to prepare our breath to hold air underwater for longer periods, the dangers associated with freediving, and how to perform rescues.
Day 2
Today, the teacher will take us to practice in the swimming pool to review what we learned on the first day. We will learn the correct way to enter the water and how to rescue our buddy by simulating a real-life situation.
Day 3
Today, we went out to sea for the Freediving Lv.1 exam. We had to dive 10 meters deep and hold our breath for 1 minute and 30 seconds to pass. After the exam, the instructor took us to try diving at various popular spots. Some were lucky enough to see turtles and whale sharks. After that, we slept at the accommodation to rest.
Day 4
Today is the last day here. Time has passed so quickly that we don't want to go back. In the morning, the school took us out for another fun dive, which is just diving and playing. In the afternoon, we packed our things and prepared to go home.
For those who want to learn, don't worry too much. Even if you can't swim, you can still learn. As long as you like it and aren't afraid, that's enough.
If you want to see the beautiful underwater world like we do, you can contact BigBubble Diving (https://web.facebook.com/bigbubblediving/?fref=mentions). You'll definitely love it.
