Phu Quoc Island
When it comes to tourist destinations in Vietnam, the cities that come to mind are Hanoi, Hoi An, Da Nang, Mui Ne, Da Lat, and Ho Chi Minh City.
While the aforementioned cities are popular tourist destinations, today we invite you to explore another city in Vietnam.
We highly recommend visiting Phu Quoc Island in Vietnam, a destination that may just capture your heart.
It is also the largest island in Vietnam.
Travel for this trip, we traveled with Bangkok Airways, which has opened a new direct flight route Bangkok – Phu Quoc and Phu Quoc – Bangkok.
Four flights per week (Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays) are operated by Bangkok Airways, offering full-service amenities.
From the lounge while waiting to board the plane, until boarding.
After arriving at Phu Quoc International Airport, we checked in to our hotel. For this trip, we stayed at the Dusit Princess Moonrise Beach Resort Phu Quoc.
Located on the west coast of the island, overlooking Bai Treuong Beach, a pristine white sand beach stretching over 20 kilometers.
Located within close proximity to Phu Quoc International Airport and the city center.
At Dusit Princess Moonrise Phu Quoc, there are 108 rooms in total, all of which offer stunning sea views from their balconies. Let's take a look at some of the rooms:
- Premium Deluxe This is the room we stayed in. It features a minimalist design and comes equipped with all the necessary amenities. The balcony offers breathtaking panoramic ocean views.
- **Moonrise Suite:** This spacious suite boasts 90 square meters of living space, thoughtfully divided into distinct areas. The highlight is the private balcony offering breathtaking sunset views.
The restaurant here maintains a fusion of Thai and Vietnamese cuisine. The menu offers a variety of local, international, and Thai dishes.
The taste of Thai food is excellent, as it is prepared by a Thai chef.
Breakfast Menu at the Hotel
The breakfast menu at the hotel offers a wide variety of options, including local dishes, international cuisine, and baked goods. Some of the menu items are similar to those found in Thailand, while others are unique to the region. The food is generally well-prepared and flavorful.
The swimming pool here stretches all the way to the beach, offering both a children's pool and an adult pool. You can enjoy swimming while admiring the sunset or pose for stunning photos with the panoramic ocean view.
Highlights of staying at this hotel:
1. Proximity to shopping, dining, and attractions:
- SUNWORLD HON THOM NATURE PARK: This newly developed tourist attraction features the world's longest跨海纜車, offering breathtaking 360-degree ocean views during the ride to HON THOM Island. The spacious cable car accommodates up to 30 passengers. Upon arrival, a scenic tram ride takes you to the beach.
- Chuon Chuon Bistro & Sky Bar is located on a hilltop, requiring a short drive uphill. However, the view is exceptional, offering a panoramic vista of Phu Quoc Island. The Sky Bar provides a pleasant atmosphere to enjoy the sunset.
- CRAB HOUSE Just the name of the restaurant makes me hungry. 55555 This restaurant is similar to the shrimp bucket restaurants in our country, where they pour the food on the table and you eat it with your hands. But here, they serve it in a basin, which is both large and plentiful. The taste is also delicious, so I recommend trying it if you come here.
- After a hearty meal, continue to CHO DEM PHU QUOC Walking Street (Phu Quoc Night Market), a 5-minute walk from CRAB HOUSE. This market mainly features seafood restaurants, souvenir shops, and general clothing stores.
The final day of the trip was incredibly relaxing, as the accommodation was conveniently located just 30 minutes from Phu Quoc International Airport.
Therefore, there is no rush at the airport, which is quite large and similar to the airport in Phuket.
Most importantly, you can fly directly back to Bangkok with a single connection on Bangkok Airways to Suvarnabhumi International Airport.
Traveling abroad has become much easier and more affordable in recent times. Tourists can now explore destinations independently without the need for organized tours, and accommodation and travel costs have become more accessible.
Especially during promotional periods, it can be cheaper to travel to Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam, than to travel within Thailand.
From a personal perspective, I find this city to be a very attractive tourist destination. It is easy to travel to and explore, and it is not overly crowded (except for the occasional honking, of course).
No visa required, easy to travel, and affordable. If you are looking for a place to travel abroad, we recommend that you do not miss this place.
Note:
- On this trip, we exchanged money at the airport after picking up our luggage. There is a money exchange counter for VND on the right side of the exit. There is only one counter.
- We didn't get a SIM card from the airport this time because when we went, there was only one counter selling SIM cards, but the shop was closed. 5555 So we used the SIM card at the hotel instead. The wifi signal was excellent. When we went outside the hotel, we could use public wifi because there was free wifi almost everywhere.
