It is a long weekend and I will escape the crowd to the Northern part of Thailand. I have been reading through numbers of travel blogs about Doi Luang Chiang Dao for a long while and I totally want to go there and experience it myself. I would like to confirm that this place is a truly good tourist attraction. So let's go and prove that!

Even though you don't have a car to go to Doi Luang Chiang Dao, you are still able to travel there. From downtown Chiang Mai, you can take the bus from Chang Puak Bus Station. The bus fare is around 40 THB and the travel duration is about one hour and a half. Then you can take the transfer run by locals up to Doi Luang Chiang Dao. The transfer is available both up and down the mountain in the morning. The transfer is 50 THB per person (Uncle Soonthorn, telephone: 081-029-4622). This is very easy and convenient. Those traveling with your own car, you need to be sure that you are skillful to drive up into the mountain on a narrow and steep road. This uphill route is also pretty winding so those who are easily to get a carsick might throw up. hahaha

You will pass by Wat Tham Chiang Dao on the way to Doi Luang Chiang Dao, therefore; you can have a quick stop here to pray for Buddha's Blessing. You can also visit the magnificent cave here.

They even have a cave tour done by the qualified local tour guides. The cost of the tour varies according to the number of tourists and there is also a cost for a lamp, 100 THB per three tourists. And this money goes directly to them.

It is not far from Wat Tham Chiang Dao to the entrance of Chiang Dao National Park. Here, you have to pay for the admission fee at 20 THB per person and 30 THB per car.

I choose to stay at Baan View Doi Luang. It is 400 THB per person including breakfast and dinner. Baan View Doi Luang is a homestay run by local and it is just right above the balcony where the owner actually lives. Even though you pay only few hundreds to stay here, the view you have got is invaluable.

The mobile phone signal is not stable up here and that is good. You can leave the world of social media behind and only relax truly.

This is how my dinner looks like. Even though they look simple, I have got to tell you that they are all very delicious. 400 THB for a stay and two meals are more than reasonable. Moreover, you can ask for more food without extra charge.

The weather is very nice and refreshing. The view of the sea of mist is beautiful. Yes, this is a total relaxation.

This particular corner is perfect for a morning coffee. Anyway, it is not dark yet after the dinner and I guess it is a good idea to go for some tea and bakery at the famous Baan Rabiang Dao.

This is the most popular spot for a photo shot. It offers such a perfect combination of the charming view, the warm hug of the mountain, and the relaxing ambiance.

To conclude, Doi Luang Chiang Dao is as good as what people say about it. You can expect a favorable atmosphere, a pleasant weather, and invaluable scenery. This place is a true escape from the chaotic world where you shall come.
