The urge to reconnect with nature was strong, so we decided to embark on a spontaneous adventure. This trip was all about embracing the moment and letting go of rigid plans. We simply followed our instincts and went wherever the wind took us.
Book your tickets now! This time, we're visiting Trang and spending a night in Phatthalung. It's a relaxing drive, so you don't have to worry about traffic jams.
Flew from Bangkok in the morning and immediately arranged transportation. Our trip used a rental car from AVIS Thailand. The car was new, easy to rent, comfortable to drive, and affordable. If you're looking for a rental car, consider AVIS as an option. They offer a variety of rental options, including self-drive, chauffeur-driven, and limousine services. They provide services in all 77 provinces across 29 branches throughout Thailand.

We got our rental car and set off for our accommodation in Trang city, which wasn't far from the airport. However, I won't be reviewing the accommodation, let's focus on the sightseeing instead! 😉

Parking fee 20 / Light rental 20 (you can choose not to rent, there are lights inside)
A Cave of Natural Wonders: Tham Luang Nang Non
This limestone cave boasts stunning stalactites and stalagmites, forming a breathtaking natural spectacle. Legend has it that a young elephant from a local lord's procession mysteriously vanished within its depths, giving rise to the cave's name, "Tham Luang Nang Non" (Cave of the Lost Child). However, fear not, for no human has ever gone missing here.
The cave's interior is surprisingly inviting, devoid of any ominous atmosphere. A short, effortless climb of less than five minutes leads you to a well-maintained pathway illuminated by lights, ensuring a safe and enjoyable exploration. The cave's beauty is truly worth experiencing, making it a must-visit destination.

Nestled in Phatthalung, this resort and restaurant boasts breathtaking views that are well worth a visit. Whether you choose to stay overnight or simply stop by for a meal and a photo opportunity, this is a destination not to be missed. For those who are only planning to dine, it is recommended to arrive around 5 pm, just before sunset. This will allow you to soak in the warm ambiance and witness the mesmerizing spectacle of the setting sun casting its golden rays upon the tranquil waters. As you gaze upon the majestic Yoyak Mountain, you will be reminded that you have truly arrived in the heart of Phatthalung.
The food at the restaurant was incredibly delicious and very affordable. The atmosphere was pleasant, and we left feeling very satisfied.
On the second night, we slept together. After dinner, we went to our rooms to shower and rest. We went to bed early because we had to prepare to go to the sea early the next morning.
The room was clean and well-equipped with all the necessary amenities. The price was reasonable, considering it was around 2,000 baht per night when we booked it.
However, remember to close the door immediately upon entering the room, as mosquitoes are also abundant.
5. Talay Noi: Cruise the Scenic Lotus Marsh, Observe Birds, and Watch Water Buffalo Play in Phatthalung
A must-visit highlight in Phatthalung (average boat price: 800-1200 baht, depending on accommodation and distance). We boarded from Sri Pak Pra Resort for 1200 baht, accommodating 5 people. The boat picked us up at 6 am, and the tour lasted approximately 2-2.30 hours.
He picked me up from the resort. The journey was a little exciting because it was a small canal full of water hyacinths.
The air is incredibly fresh, making it easy to breathe deeply. Waking up early today was definitely worth it.
Friends came out to welcome me early in the morning. 5555+
Upon entering the Thale Noi area, you will begin to see a splash of red amidst the water, with flocks of birds flying around, feeding on fish. The atmosphere is delightful, making it a worthwhile experience to wake up early.
In addition to being a tourist attraction, the red lotus is also a food source for local people. Villagers collect it here and use it to prepare a variety of dishes. The dishes we had last night, such as spicy papaya salad with lotus stems and seafood, and lotus stem curry, were delicious and difficult to find in Bangkok.
After a short boat ride, the sun began to rise, and we had to head back.
This trip ended happily. If anyone is coming to Trang and Phatthalung, don't forget to stop by. :)
