First Experience Riding a Ferry Across the Gulf of Thailand

This sentence describes the first-time experience of riding a ferry across the Gulf of Thailand.
A New Way to Experience the Sea: Pattaya and Hua Hin in 2 Hours
This trip will take you on a new kind of seaside adventure. While it's true that all beaches share certain similarities, this journey offers a unique twist: exploring both Pattaya and Hua Hin, two popular destinations in different regions of Thailand, in a single trip.
Previously, traveling between these two locations would have taken an entire day. However, thanks to recent advancements in transportation infrastructure, the journey now takes a mere two hours. This opens up exciting possibilities for experiencing the diverse offerings of both destinations within a single trip.
So, let's embark on this exciting adventure and discover the wonders that await us in Pattaya and Hua Hin!
This trip was a two-person journey with me, "Young", the admin of the page We Take Go+, and my friend "Ken", the admin of the page Stop Work, Go Travel. Since we wanted to travel on a weekday and none of our friends were available, haha, we have to thank Ken for skipping work to join this trip.
We traveled on Tuesday, November 20, 2018. We met in Pattaya before noon. I arrived a day earlier than Ken. The unthinkable happened, haha. Ken missed the boat. .... The boat trip from Pattaya was scheduled to depart at 13.00 p.m. The boat was very punctual. Ken missed the boat, but it was okay. I told Ken to take a van from Bangkok to wait for me in Hua Hin, haha. Still, I wasn't abandoned on this trip.
The journey took approximately 2 hours by ferry from Pattaya to Hua Hin, arriving at Khao Takiab Pier. ***It is important to note that Thai tourists must bring their identification cards, as they are required during check-in. International tourists, on the other hand, should present their passports.
After checking in, we will encounter the baggage inspection room, which resembles an airport security checkpoint. The luggage is scanned by an X-ray machine, and tourists are inspected by security personnel. The security measures are highly commendable.
After having our bags checked, we brought them to the designated area prepared by the staff for easy transportation onto the ship.
The interior of the boat features welcoming staff and comfortable seating options. The boat has two levels, including a VIP room. The restrooms are located on the first level, opposite the stairs leading to the second level.
The seats were comfortable, with ample legroom. I did not experience any turbulence during my flight, making it feel like a smooth journey on an airplane. I was fortunate to have a pleasant experience.
As I mentioned earlier, the experience is similar to being on an airplane. After a while, an announcement will be made informing passengers that food and beverages will be served. Each seat will be provided with a complimentary bottle of water. Passengers who desire carbonated beverages or food can place an order.
Look, I haven't even finished my story yet, and the boat has already arrived in Hua Hin. Haha. We arrived at the pier around 3:15 PM. That's pretty fast, considering I once took a regular bus from Pattaya to Hua Hin, which took about 5-6 hours and cost about the same.

Upon arrival at the pier, there are pictures of the atmosphere and the captain and crew to welcome you.
After picking up our bags, we needed to find a ride into town. There were taxis waiting at the parking lot, and the fare into town should be around 150 baht. We needed to go into town because I had to pick up Ken, a friend who had missed the boat earlier. Haha! After picking him up, we headed back towards the pier, as our hotel was not far from there. Importantly, the hotel was right next to Cicada Market. However, the day we went was a Tuesday, and the market was closed. Haha! The market is open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. No worries, though, we still had plenty of other places to eat. Haha!
For accommodation, I chose to stay at Baan Duang Kaew Resort. I liked the fact that the rooms were individual bungalows, which provided privacy. We arrived at the resort around 4:00 PM, checked in, and asked the resort to find us a motorbike to rent.

We got the car and went for a drive. We were so hungry, so we decided to find a restaurant to eat at. We drove out to the front of the building, and there were a lot of restaurants to choose from.
We were full after lunch, and originally planned to go back to our room and rest. However, the sun was about to set, so we decided to keep going without hesitation. Haha. We went to the scenic viewpoint at Khao Hin Lek Fai, which offers stunning views of almost the entire city of Hua Hin. P.S. There were a lot of monkeys, so be sure to keep your valuables in your bag.
We came to visit and rented a car with a full tank of gas, so we decided to continue our trip. We arrived at a place called Oasis x Seenspace, where we sat by the sea and enjoyed a cold beer. The atmosphere was fantastic, with customers coming and going all the time. We relaxed by the pool, listening to the sound of the waves crashing on the shore. It was truly a blissful experience, and it would have been even better if we were with our significant other. However, being with friends also created a unique and enjoyable atmosphere.
After a delicious meal, take a stroll through the bustling Hua Hin Night Market. This vibrant market is a haven for food lovers, offering a wide variety of local delicacies and souvenirs.
The day flew by, and I arrived at my room to relax. I'll continue my trip tomorrow, haha (actually, I continued drinking several bottles of beer in my room, haha). Cut to the morning, it's time for breakfast. Since I drank a lot of beer last night, I woke up late, haha. But I still made it in time for breakfast.
After a delicious meal, there's no need to wait for digestion before taking a dip in the pool, as it's conveniently located right outside your room. Choose from two refreshing pools to suit your preference.
Today's trip was filled with merit-making, praying, eating, and shopping. We had a blast! Since we still had some gas left in the car, we decided to continue our journey to Wat Huay Mongkol, which houses the world's largest statue of Luang Pho Thuad.

The trip ends today. Return to the accommodation, prepare to check out, return the motorbike, and ask the resort to call a car to take you to the pier.
We originally planned to have lunch together at the pier beach, but we forgot that today is a beach cleaning day, so all shops and restaurants are closed. Fortunately, there were still food trucks selling food at the pier, which tasted delicious and was also very affordable.
After eating, we waited for the boat. The boat arrived at the pier around 3:10 PM. We checked in, went through security, and then waited.
The boat arrived shortly after, which was quite punctual.
The rough waves on the return trip from Pattaya left me feeling seasick, as you can see from the photos. I had to move to the middle of the boat to feel better.
A quick nap and we're already in Pattaya. Here's a glimpse of the atmosphere (Please note that disembarking the ship requires prior permission from the captain).
This trip has been quite tiring. We arrived in Pattaya around 6:00 PM. During the winter season (although it's not really cold), it gets dark earlier than usual. We need to find a way to get to our hotel. At the Pattaya pier, there are shared taxis and regular taxis available. However, Grab is currently offering promotions in Pattaya, so we decided to take advantage of that.
This hotel is located in North Pattaya and is called Le Bali Resort & Spa Pattaya. It is a large and very new hotel.
After a tiring day of sightseeing, my friend Ken jumped into the pool first. Haha!
We had dinner at the hotel, which has a restaurant. After a satisfying meal, it was time for a tour of Pattaya, the city that never sleeps. We didn't venture far from the hotel, opting instead for the newly opened Terminal 21 Pattaya shopping mall. This mall is a photographer's paradise, with countless photogenic corners. Unfortunately, we arrived just as the mall was closing, so we couldn't explore the interior. We'll have to save that for another time. For now, we'll enjoy the ambiance of the surrounding area.
We used the hotel's van service. They dropped us off at the places we wanted to visit (one-way trip).
After taking some photos, we started to feel hungry again. Haha, we are true foodies. For dinner, we chose a restaurant near our hotel called "Sia To Moo Kata" (a beer jelly restaurant). Haha, it's a small and cozy place.
Another trip comes to an end for today. We're back at the hotel, ready for a long sleep. If you're interested in staying here, feel free to ask for more details. It's a 5-star hotel.

The first part of the trip was supposed to be a visit to the Pattaya viewpoint at Khao Phra Tamnak, but it rained and we had to skip it. We ended up at Khun B's Kanom Jeen restaurant. If you're visiting Pattaya and looking for a famous Kanom Jeen restaurant, I highly recommend it.
