When the name "Khao Din" is mentioned, everyone would recognize it and understand that it refers to "Dusit Zoo," the first zoo in Thailand. Similarly, "Mama" is synonymous with "instant noodles."

In a few days, this iconic landmark will become a legend. On August 31, 2018, it will relocate to a new 300-acre site in Rangsit, Klong 6, on land graciously granted by His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun, the 10th King of Thailand. This relocation is a testament to His Majesty's boundless compassion for the Thai people and the Zoological Park Organization.

Before relocating to the new site, all animals will be distributed among the six existing zoos: Khao Kheow Open Zoo, Chiang Mai Zoo, Nakhon Ratchasima Zoo, Songkhla Zoo, Ubon Ratchathani Zoo, and Khon Kaen Zoo.

Many people have fond memories of Dusit Zoo, whether it was visiting with their parents as children, going on school field trips, or hanging out with friends.

Today, I would like to use photographs to take a trip down memory lane.

In their childhood, many people may have wondered which animal is the symbol of the Zoological Park Organization. The answer is the banteng, also known as the tembadau.

The legendary "Saphan Pla" (Fish Bridge) lives up to its name, but most people aren't interested in the fish.

However, they prioritize these creatures over the adorable "water monitor lizards," some of which are incredibly large.

The sight brought back memories of days gone by. This zoo is so old, just imagine, it dates back to the days of film cameras and even camera batteries. When I was a child, I used to come here and buy film every time.

It is inconceivable to claim that one has never ridden in a trailer truck here. Whether it is a child or a parent who is tired or lazy to walk, they will inevitably rely on this mode of transportation. No matter how many years pass, trailer trucks remain the same.

The penguin zone. I remember being very excited when I first came here because I had never seen anything like it before.

Gwang Daw has seen it so often that she is used to it.

The ostrich population was once larger, but now only one individual remains.

This zone, featuring giraffes and zebras, is a major highlight that children particularly enjoy.

These tigers and lions, the kings of the jungle, are a source of excitement for children due to their captivating behaviors, whether they are sleeping or walking.

Reptile and amphibian zone, such as lizards, snakes, turtles, and crocodiles.

The sentence "หมีหมา หมีควาย ก็เป็นสัตว์ที่ดูแล้วน่ารักเสมอ" translates to:

"Both the bear-dog and the bear-buffalo are animals that always appear cute."

Or, as a unique feature of Dusit Zoo, the "hippopotamus".

"Mali", a 52-year-old hippopotamus, holds the title of the oldest hippopotamus in Thailand. Many people have known her since their childhood, and she remains a beloved figure to this day.

Our national animal, the elephant, is also a favorite among children.

"Plang jim"

The "Sea Lion" talent show zone is a crowd-pleaser, consistently eliciting smiles and laughter from the audience.

A cherished memory for many visitors is the romantic experience of pedaling a swan boat with a loved one.

No matter how many years pass, Dusit Zoo will forever remain a cherished memory. As time inevitably brings change, I feel not sadness but joy, knowing that this transformation serves a greater purpose.

Those who wish to reminisce, please come quickly. There is still time until August 31, 2018. Thank you.
