As a spicy and numbing mala enthusiast, I am always on the lookout for new and exciting mala experiences. After seeing numerous bloggers rave about a particular mala restaurant, I decided to investigate for myself. With the motto "seeing is believing and tasting is knowing," I embarked on a culinary adventure to determine if the hype was justified.

Start parking

Drivers should be aware that parking may be difficult, especially for those who are not comfortable with parallel parking. The author initially felt discouraged and even muttered to themselves, "Parking is so difficult! No matter how delicious the food is, I'll only eat here once!"

Upon entering the Mala hotpot restaurant, I felt as if I had been transported to Korea. This resemblance is quite accurate, as the dining style involves street-side grilling, similar to Korean barbecue. The restaurant can accommodate approximately 60 patrons, with seating options ranging from street-side tables to indoor booths. There is also a central area and a back room for larger groups. While I personally prefer to sit near the food counter, feel free to choose the seating that best suits your needs.

Choosing the Right Ingredients for Your Mala Hotpot Experience

Upon arrival, don't hesitate to grab a bowl and start selecting your skewers. Choose from a wide variety of options, including mushrooms, vegetables, sausages, grilled meats, and more. Prices start at 10-25 baht, and the selection is vast. We recommend trying a few skewers to get a taste of the mala flavor, which is sure to whet your appetite.

Secretly eyeing the wood I want to cut down....

"Let me take another look before grabbing it. Hehe."

Ready! Wang Chao, Ma Han, prepare to open the cabinet, click, click, click (younger generations may not get this joke 5555+)

Claiming Ownership of Spicy Food

"No more waiting, let's order!"

This phrase expresses eagerness and impatience to order food, specifically something spicy.

The subsequent heading, "Entering the queue to claim ownership of spicy food," reinforces this sentiment and suggests a competitive atmosphere where individuals are vying to be the first to enjoy a particular spicy dish.

“My Ma La” to show ownership of each chosen stick. Okay, pay first. Seeing the long queue waiting to pay, don't be alarmed. The Ma La staff are super fast at collecting money, like The Flash. If you're interested in other menus, you can order them too, such as French fries, Ma La French fries, or Korean instant noodles. Choose, choose what's right for you. After that, the staff will ask your name and where you're from. Just kidding! Just tell them your nickname. Then, Ma La will deliver your order directly to your table, no need to walk to pick it up. Oh! Don't forget to choose the spiciness level. There are 3 levels:

  • Level 1: Mildly spicy, just right
  • Level 3: Medium spicy, for adults
  • Level 5: Spicy ... damn! They say life is precious, don't be crazy and order 5. Recommended for those who love the heat. But I'm a wimp, I admit it 555+. I chose level 1 without hesitation 555. I told you, I'm gullible.

Wait for a while, two breaks. If you are bored or hungry, it is recommended to sit and chat and chat until your saliva bursts to warm up your body before eating Mala. Is it okay?

Cashier zone

"Order lightly, not too much ^^"

The restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere with a focus on a wide variety of grilling options rather than design.

The wait is over.

"Excuse me, sir," the waiter called out, and I immediately raised my hand, waving my receipt. "This is mine!" I declared, eager to claim my prize. With the formalities out of the way, I wasted no time in digging in, savoring the delicious food before me.

And here are our spicy dogs.

Oh! Let me take another angle as punishment for making me wait. Hehe.

This section features Mala French Fries, which have a hybrid flavor profile, reminiscent of Potato Corner but with a thicker, plumper size.

What is the taste like?

As mentioned, we opted for the baby-level spiciness, which surprisingly delivered a delightful mala flavor. The meat was well-infused with the spices, avoiding the soggy texture often encountered elsewhere. The fragrant aroma was particularly noteworthy. If you order the sausage wrapped in bacon, be prepared for a satisfying crunch. We highly recommend trying the surprisingly delicious grilled okra. My partner, on the other hand, opted for the grilled intestines and chicken thighs, a combination that left us speechless (in the best way possible). The only sounds emanating from our table were the enthusiastic munching, replacing our usual chatter. (555+)

Would you like to fight? In the picture are cheese sausages wrapped in bacon (our favorite) and grilled sausages (your favorite).

The latest menu boasts a wide variety of new additions, including **river prawns, Alaskan crab stuffed with cheese**, and a Khantoke-style mala set featuring fried insects alongside other fried dishes for your exploration.
