The text reveals that the house was the first home of Professor Corrado Feroci, also known as Professor Silpa Bhirasri. The discovery was made when the professor's daughter sent an old photograph of her parents and children taken in front of the house back to Thailand. Professor Silpa Bhirasri's students, who graduated from Silpakorn University, helped locate the house, which was under the care of the military. The military willingly returned the house.
In an effort to revive the rich history of this house, it has been meticulously restored and transformed into an art exhibition space. The ground floor houses a cozy café, serving as a vibrant hub for artists and art enthusiasts to gather and engage in stimulating conversations.
The history of this house is as follows:
This house is located within the compound of the residence of Phraya Burut Ratnarajpallop (Nop Krairik), which is currently the headquarters of the Army Internal Audit Office.
Professor Corrado Feroci's Arrival in Siam
On November 14, 1918, Professor Corrado Feroci, later known as Silpa Bhirasri, signed a contract with the Siamese government. The agreement stipulated a monthly salary of 800 baht, housing provided by the government, and travel expenses of 80 pounds to Siam. This marked the beginning of a new chapter in the life of the Italian artist in the Far East.
The house that is now the Craftsman coffee shop and art gallery on the upper floor was the first home of Professor Silpa Bhirasri in Siam. He lived there for eight years before moving elsewhere, and the house was forgotten until his daughter sent old photos of him back to Thailand. His students then investigated one photo in which the family was posing together, trying to identify the house. They examined details such as the bars on the windows and the lease agreement, and discovered that it was one of the houses belonging to Phraya Burut Ratnarajapallabha (Nop Krairiksh).
Initially, the Army Audit Office took charge of renovating the house to its fullest potential. They entrusted the disciples of the professor to assist in the restoration and revival of memories. Everyone agreed that simply displaying artwork would not fully capture the essence of Italian art appreciation. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee, an integral element of the artistic experience, was deemed necessary to evoke the true spirit of an artist's appreciation.
Therefore, everyone invited Craftsman, a coffee shop with its own unique identity, an art haven for coffee lovers, to open a second branch (the first branch is located in Sathorn) in this old house. The requirement was that the shop had to be extremely artistic.

No wonder it was so incredibly delicious.
