• Ban Wanya

Baan Wa Na is located in Mae Ram Subdistrict, Mae Rim District, Chiang Mai Province.

This accommodation offers three types of houses: large box houses, small box houses, and stone houses.

We were six friends who managed to book the last three available rooms.

  • Large box house 1 room for 2,590 baht
  • 2 stone houses for 1,990 baht each
  • But the price will vary depending on the festival.

This house is a large box house.

This house offers a comfortable and spacious sleeping environment, perfectly suited for a couple's getaway.

The sofa area can be used for sitting, lying down, and playing.

The front balcony offers a breathtaking view of the mountains upon waking.

Bathroom

#For the large box house, it offers a beautiful view, a balcony area for taking photos, and a sofa, TV, and fan inside the room. The bathroom is also in good condition.

Let's take a look at stone houses. If you like something unique, stone houses are the answer.

Entrance to the stone house

The bathroom is located on the right-hand side upon entering the house.

The sleeping area is located on the second floor, accessible by climbing this stone staircase.

The bed was rather narrow, nestled against a stone wall on one side and a protective barrier on the other to prevent falls.

If we take a picture from the bed down, it will look like this.

From the bed, there is a rooftop terrace above that we can climb up to again from the stairs here.

This photo was taken from the Big Box House.

The stone house offers beautiful views, but it cannot compete with the spaciousness of the large box house. The bed is relatively small, and restless sleepers may find themselves scraping against the rocks. The room includes a TV and a staircase leading to the rooftop.

For dinner, they had a barbecue with pork. The cook was a member of a local tribe who lived down the hill. Every day, he would climb up to work at Wan Ya's house.

Breakfast includes rice porridge and orange juice.

The morning air was slightly misty.

The mist still lingers in the late morning.

The view is truly breathtaking. Immerse yourself in the mountainous atmosphere and witness the mesmerizing sea of mist in the morning. Although, the mist tends to be more prevalent in the late morning hours. At night, the sky transforms into a dazzling spectacle of twinkling stars.

Surrounded by tribal vegetable plots, the area offers expansive views of nature, with mountains visible in the distance.

  • Pong Piang Forest

The Lush Landscape of Pong Piang Forest

Pong Piang Forest, nestled in the Mae Chaem district of Chiang Mai province, offers a captivating experience for nature enthusiasts. The optimal time to visit this verdant paradise falls between the months of July and August, coinciding with the vibrant rice planting season. During this period, the landscape transforms into a breathtaking tapestry of emerald green, as farmers diligently cultivate the fertile fields.

The lush vegetation and tranquil atmosphere of Pong Piang Forest provide a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of city life. Visitors can immerse themselves in the serene beauty of the natural surroundings, observing the intricate dance of butterflies flitting among the wildflowers and listening to the melodious chorus of birdsong.

The rice paddies, meticulously tended by local farmers, showcase the harmonious relationship between humans and nature. The emerald green hues of the rice stalks, reflecting the golden rays of the sun, create a mesmerizing spectacle. The rhythmic movements of farmers as they plant and tend to their crops offer a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of the region.

Pong Piang Forest stands as a testament to the resilience and ingenuity of the local community, who have skillfully adapted their agricultural practices to the unique characteristics of the landscape. The rice paddies, meticulously carved into the hillside, serve as a testament to their unwavering dedication and deep connection to the land.

As the sun begins its descent, casting long shadows across the rice fields, the air fills with the tantalizing aroma of freshly cooked rice. The warmth and hospitality of the local people, combined with the breathtaking beauty of the surroundings, create an unforgettable experience for all who visit Pong Piang Forest.

The rice seedlings are still small and haven't fully covered the field, revealing the water surface, which creates a different kind of beauty.

If you want to see the lush green rice fields, you should visit during the second season, which is from September to early October. The last season, in late October, is when the rice stalks turn golden and are ready for harvest. The picture below shows the scene in late October.
