The Charm of Laem Phak Bia: A Local Getaway from Bangkok
Nestled in the province of Phetchaburi, Laem Phak Bia offers a convenient escape for Bangkok residents. Just a few hours away, this coastal community provides the perfect opportunity for a one-day trip or a relaxing overnight stay.
This time, we opted for a full local experience, choosing to spend a night and immerse ourselves in the authentic charm of Laem Phak Bia. Let's explore what makes this destination so special.
Tree
"Wait a minute? Are you starting with food already?"
Ploy
"Oh, who woke up late? By the time we arrived, it was already noon. So, the uncles and aunts prepared a lunch for us at the local administrative organization. Look at the menu! This is just the first dish, and it already has a local flavor."
Tree
"The sizzling sound of chili paste with hot rice, a perfect match."

Tree
"Full already, let's go, uncle!"
Ploy
"Hey, wait up!"
Yes, this is the car we will be using for the entire trip. Our driver is the owner of the homestay.
Enjoy the cool breeze along the way, it's so refreshing!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Our first stop was a seaweed farm.
We got to see how to grow and raise sea grapes, and we learned about them. And of course, we got to taste them!
I tasted the incredibly fresh sea grapes, so fresh that I ate them right there on the spot.
The taste is indescribable, let the picture speak for itself. 55555
If you're curious, come and try it yourself.
Let's take a closer look at the appearance of grape-like algae. It looks chic and very appetizing. But wait, what is the plant doing?
This is behind the scenes of the grapevine photoshoot... Hmm... So dedicated.
Let's move on to hydroponic vegetable cultivation.
Ploy
"Why is it so big?"
Tree
"The ordinary world doesn't remember."
Ploy
"Yes."
To be blunt, this place looks suspiciously like a breeding ground.
But where is the highlight, you know?
This is the owner of all the vegetables. The owner is very friendly and explained everything to us in a very personal way.
The most impressive aspect of this experience was the self-sufficiency of my aunt. She not only researched and implemented hydroponic vegetable cultivation but also constructed the irrigation system herself. Her expertise was truly remarkable. In my opinion, the most enjoyable part of the visit was not observing the vegetables but rather conversing with my aunt. We engaged in an extended and fascinating conversation, during which she provided a comprehensive tour and detailed explanations of each vegetable variety.

Before leaving, I gave the aunt a mini heart.

Next stop... Poo Bank
This is a fascinating and innovative approach to crab farming. The community's use of tanks to raise the crabs and then release them into the sea for growth demonstrates a sustainable and environmentally conscious practice. The cyclical nature of the process, where the crabs are eventually harvested and sold, generates income for the community, creating a self-sufficient and economically viable system. This initiative highlights the ingenuity and resourcefulness of the community, showcasing a successful model for sustainable aquaculture.
Do you see those tiny dots? Those are baby crabs, very small and adorable.

"Sigh, so much traveling has made my throat dry."

As the evening approached, we decided to relax at the First Sand Beach.
May I name this "Minimalist Beach"? The photos I took here have a minimalist aesthetic. See for yourself.
This is very beautiful. The photos are smooth and elegant, and the sand seems to be very fine and white.
Perhaps due to the low number of visitors, possibly because we visited on a weekday, the atmosphere was remarkably quiet and peaceful. We even encountered a couple having their pre-wedding photoshoot, adding to the serene ambiance.
Another day has passed (but let me sneak in a quick review of the room: I absolutely love it!)
Did you notice anything? The power outlet! It's on the headboard, haha! It's perfect for social media addicts like us. And there are two on each bed, and one by the TV. This place is not stingy with power outlets at all. They provide plenty for us to use.
For those of us with a lot of technological devices, such as smartphones, power banks, GoPro cameras, and notebooks, this is the perfect solution.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The rooster has crowed (it's time to get up).
We had to wake up at 4:30 AM to go find shellfish early in the morning, as the car would pick us up at 5:00 AM.
The chillest way to play is to lie down and not share space with anyone.

"Please let me off first. I'm scared of what you might do…"
And then we arrived at the first activity of the day! That is, finding shells!
Despite his age, the elderly gentleman walks with remarkable agility. In a short time, he has managed to gather a significant amount of shellfish.
Ploy
"Wait, uncle! I can't keep up!"
Uncle
"Don't worry, we need to walk quickly so we don't sink."
Right, it worked. After that, I practically ran around looking for shells.
After collecting enough shells, the uncle took us to the first sand beach. He told us that this was the location of the first sand beach in the southern province. Wow! Isn't that cool?
This is how it is, I told you. This beach is minimalist. No matter how you take a picture, it will be minimalist. 5555 I love it so much.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After that, we went back to our accommodation to have breakfast.
The kind old man kept asking if I needed anything more, offering me bananas and encouraging me to ask for anything else I might need.
After we finished eating, we went our separate ways to shower, brush our teeth, and get ready to continue our trip. (He knew we hadn't showered in the morning.)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Our next destination is...
The Laem Phak Bia Environmental Research and Development Project under Royal Initiative
There are two ways to explore this area: by bicycle or by golf cart.
And of course, for this trip, we choose to go for a relaxing bike ride with a view.
This is our bicycle. When we take pictures of it, it really feels like we are in Japan.
The distant address is the golf cart.

The scenery here is breathtaking, with vast green expanses, contrasting blue skies, and interspersed lush trees. The cool breeze adds to the idyllic atmosphere.

A must-visit attraction is the mangrove forest walk.
The silence outside is amplified within these walls, creating an even more tranquil atmosphere. The heavy air hangs thick, hinting at an impending rain that never materializes. A cool, comfortable breeze provides a welcome respite.
I must confess that I dozed off while sitting there. I had intended to simply close my eyes and listen to the sounds of nature, but I ended up falling asleep.
I woke up feeling hungry! (Oh, I'm hungry again!?)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And so, we conclude our trip at...
The highlight of the trip was undoubtedly the delicious food.
This is so delicious! The ingredients are fresh, the meat is tender, and the flavors are perfectly balanced. The dipping sauce is the best I've ever had. I'm already thinking about bringing my family here next time.
This is unbearable! I secretly ordered some mantis shrimp to try, and it's incredibly cheap! It's only 400 baht per kilogram, and it even comes with vegetables and garlic. Seriously, you guys have to try it! It's worth the drive just to eat this.
It was an impeccable and worthwhile conclusion to the trip, leaving no room for criticism.
