This is my first time visiting Trang Province. It is a diverse province with many beautiful islands and beaches.
Here is a 2-day, 1-night travel program for 1,000 baht per person. You can book it through https://www.1nightstaywithlocals.com.
A visit here will leave you feeling both physically and emotionally satisfied, with a smile on your face.
Transportation options include both cars and buses. From Trang, travel directly to Si Kao District, passing through the district center.
We have arrived at Bor Hin Farmstay. Uncle Banjong, the head of the farm, has prepared a boat and our guide, P'Ban, to take us on a tour. He will also be our guide and provide commentary during the trip. There is a rotating schedule of boat drivers who take turns taking tourists on tours.
Let's set sail without delay!
The first stop was an unseen gem: a salty hot spring nestled at the edge of a mangrove forest. The crystal-clear water, tinged green with algae, maintained a comfortable temperature of around 40 degrees Celsius, perfect for a relaxing soak. The surrounding mud was also utilized for spa treatments.
A group from Krabi visited our OTOP project and we had a wonderful time together. They truly connected with the project.
The next stop is the mangrove forest nature study trail, which has a walkway for visitors to explore the diverse mangrove ecosystem. This forest covers an area of approximately 2,000 rai.
The reforestation efforts have been so successful that the area is almost completely covered with newly planted trees.
On the way to the beach to collect the sunset
Normally, there are activities such as boat trips to Ao Boon Krong, a bay surrounded by rocks and Koh Lo Lo, which is planted with seagrass. However, on this page, it is not possible to go out to sea.
Today, we were only able to visit the sunset beach, but it was still beautiful and worth the trip.
The view in front is of Ao Boon Krong, surrounded by mountains.
The crabs here are very large.
A group photo with the visiting delegation from Krabi. I will definitely visit Krabi when I have the chance.
The sun will set behind Koh Lolua.
I had to return to my accommodation before I could watch the sunset.
Our food comes from the community's own foraging and fish from the cages we raise.
On the second day, we will explore the village and experience the local way of life.
Starting point at the Batik Fabric Group, Ban Pru Dot
We had the opportunity to do it too. We'll see how it turns out.
Here is our finished work. The housekeeper asked us to leave, so thank you very much.
Next up is the Tei Pahanan Weaving Group from Duhun Village.
This is a Pandanus tectorius tree, planted in front of the weaving group's office.
The speaker went to watch their grandmother demonstrate weaving.
Due to the high demand for woven products, many orders have been placed. Most of the existing stock has been used for the OTOP exhibition.
The woven products of tey pahanan can be woven into anything. They are beautiful and the texture of tey pahanan is very good.
The next stop is the local specialty of Sikao: dried fish with mosquito net.
It was a very large fish. They dried the fish in the sun to make salted fish, and then stored it in a mosquito net to prevent flies from gathering.
Large, isn't it? You can buy it and take it home.
We will have to wait for the water level to recede before we can see the fish being raised in the cages.
In addition to raising fish in cages, the Omsai community also has a seagrass bank, which cultivates seagrass as food for dugongs. This seagrass is then planted to provide a sustainable food source for these endangered marine mammals.
Before leaving, let's take a picture with P'Banjong.
Stay tuned for our next trip destination at Lerk Tiew.
No need to wait for an auspicious occasion to travel. #TravelAuspiciously
