Introducing Mallika R.E. 124: A Journey Through Time

"A city of culture and way of life"

Mallika City is a historical park that recreates the lifestyle of Siamese people living in the Chao Phraya River basin during the reign of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V). The year 1881 (R.S. 124) marked a significant turning point in Siamese society, particularly with the abolition of slavery. Newly freed slaves had to adapt to a life of self-reliance, no longer under the control of their former masters. They had to learn to survive, support themselves, and coexist with other members of Siamese society. This transformation in their way of life laid the foundation for the modern Thai identity.

After a day of exploring, we heard that there was another highlight not to be missed in Mallika City.

It was a dinner in the Ruem Moo, an ancient-style dinner with a special performance of Khon."

Walking up, I couldn't help but exclaim "Wow!" This is an incredibly magnificent and spacious Thai house.

Thai musicians are ready.

This is an ancient meal from here.

Traditional Thai Dinner (Evening Meal)

The dishes include crispy rice noodles, chili paste, spicy curry, steamed fish in banana leaf, massaman curry, and pickled mango. Mallika City chose these dishes to allow the younger generation to taste the wisdom of Thai ancestors, which are difficult to find nowadays or have been modified significantly. The cooking methods for each dish are very complicated, making them unfamiliar to most people as it is increasingly difficult to find people who know how to cook them. In addition, there is a special appetizer for dinner, "Khao Tang Na Tang," an ancient recipe for everyone to enjoy.

Price includes unlimited refills of rice, mixed fruits, and drinks (plain water). Excludes refills of "Khao Tang Na Tang" appetizer. Great value!

The Khon performance has begun. Enjoy the show while you eat.
