Closing the 80-year legend of Khao Din 🦁🐻🐯

Let's take a trip down memory lane today. Did you know that Dusit Zoo is closing its doors at the end of this month? The zoo has been a beloved part of Thai culture for 80 years, but it will soon become a legend. So, let's take a walk down memory lane and revisit our childhood.

During my visit last week, the park was crowded due to the holiday weekend, but it was still an enjoyable experience. Khao Din Wildlife Park is home to a diverse range of animals, and despite the hot weather, the abundance of trees and ponds provided a refreshing atmosphere.

Khao Din Wildlife Park is a vast expanse, so a funicular railway is available to help visitors navigate the park. The railway costs 25 baht per person and offers a comprehensive tour of the zoo, with approximately 4-5 designated stops for passengers to disembark. Khao Din is home to a diverse array of animals, most notably "Mae Mali," the beloved hippopotamus who is a particular favorite among children. Mae Mali is arguably the park's star attraction. Other notable residents include the five-colored langur, leopard, giraffe, and bear, among many others.

Visiting Khao Din without riding a paddle boat is like not visiting Khao Din at all. Paddle boating is considered a landmark of Khao Din because it offers a beautiful view of the Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall.

👉 I remember hearing about Khao Din since I was born. Now that it's closing down, I feel sad that this home for animals in the heart of the city will have to be relocated. There's still time, so hurry and visit to soak up the atmosphere of Khao Din. The last day Khao Din will be open is September 30th.

💶 Admission fee to the zoo is 100 baht per person.
💴 Tram fare is 25 baht per person.
💵 The fee for watching various shows depends on the show itself.
