#Falling in love with #Doi Pha Hee #Homestay under a hundred baht
....
"Doi Pha Hee", a hidden gem on the mountaintop,
which many people may not have heard of, is located on the border of Thailand and Myanmar.
It is a famous coffee-growing area in Chiang Rai... where quality coffee beans are selected
and sold throughout Thailand and abroad. Importantly, many famous coffee shops... have to come here to get coffee beans.
And #Doi Pha Hee is not only about coffee, but also has a viewpoint of Ban Pha Hee, which is outstanding.
It is located on a high mountain, surrounded by high mountains.
At Pha Hee Coffee Shop, there is a view of mountains and forests in front, covered with fog.
There are corners for sitting and sipping coffee, chilling out, dangling your legs to feel the breeze, looking to the left is Doi Pha Mi, to the right is Doi Tung.
Plus, this coffee shop has a homestay for a hundred baht, allowing you to relax and experience the atmosphere to the fullest.
In the evening, sit and eat local food of the "Akha people" with a cool temperature of around 20 degrees.
Wake up in the morning with a cup of fragrant coffee, and for those who are into drip coffee, you can roast and drip your own coffee.
I must say that I fell in love with this place on my first visit...
Activities on Doi
- Watch the sea of mist
- Sip good coffee
- Learn about the way of life and dress of the Akha people (free clothes provided, wear cool photos)
- Walk around Pha Hee Village
- Eat local Akha food, such as stir-fried root vegetables
- Learn to make drip coffee, roast your own coffee from an antique roaster
Travel
The village of Pha Hee is located approximately 50 kilometers from Chiang Rai city and 17-18 kilometers from Mae Sai district. There are two routes to reach the village: via Doi Tung or through Pha Mi village. I took the Doi Pha Mi route, which is a bit narrow. However, the journey offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape, including Myanmar on the other side of the border. The mountains are magnificent, and if you visit in the morning, you'll be treated to a sea of fog. It's an incredible experience.

Another activity upon arrival at Ban Hee is dressing up as Akha people.
Here are the three girls on this trip. Most of the accessories are made of real silver.
If I told you the price, you would definitely scream. It's very expensive.
How is your coffee brewing practice going? Are you getting the hang of it?
It's still all there^^ But the floor is full of coffee beans lol 555
The bottle gourd, or "ee pu" in the Akha language, is an integral part of Akha life.
Before the introduction of bottles in Siam, the Akha people used bottle gourds to store drinking water, which imparted a natural fragrance.
After spending almost half a day as Akha people, we were taken on a tour of the village by Father Luang Aran, the owner of the resort.
He told us about the Akha people, from their past to their present, from the land of opium to the land of coffee, which is famous in Chiang Rai.
They have no language of their own and use English as their written language.
The unique charm of #Doi Pha Hee lies in its location atop a high mountain.
Especially on rainy days, we are constantly enveloped in mist, making for a truly blissful experience all day long.
Missed the Swinging Festival at Ban Pha Hee
I was disappointed to miss the Swinging Festival (Loe Ching Cha) at Ban Pha Hee last week. This annual event celebrates the Akha New Year and commemorates the goddess "Um Sa Ya," who brings prosperity and fertility.
Despite my regret, I couldn't help but feel a twinge of excitement at the thought of participating in the festivities. The swinging ritual, a central element of the festival, is a thrilling and symbolic act.
Giant Swing
Only those who have been here would understand. 55+
Children's playground equipment, I don't know what it's called, but....let me play for a bit 555+
The way to play is to put your body on the wood and walk, run, and spin with your feet.
The children in Pha Hee village are all smiles and adorable.
A short walk further, you will find a white coffee shop with a view that is just as stunning as the one where we stayed.
This is the Phu Pha Hee Coffee Shop, which also serves as a homestay.
The atmosphere here is different but equally pleasant.
At the end of the village, we found a great spot for taking pictures, which I personally loved.
We must thank Father Luang Aran for taking us on a tour of the village himself.

After a day of exploring, it's time to check into our accommodation. We'll freshen up before enjoying dinner.
The room is simply decorated with bamboo and lacks air conditioning, but it does have a single fan.
However, be warned: the temperature drops to 19-20 degrees Celsius at night, so you won't need the fan.

Dinner time! Akha local food is ready.
A new day dawns, with white mist blanketing the entire area.
The menu features stir-fried pork with Chinese artichoke, stir-fried chayote (which is essentially stir-fried chayote shoots with oyster sauce), chili paste, and omelet.
A morning essential: #drip coffee, freshly roasted and brewed.

Coffee roasting from an antique roaster
Roasted to perfection.
And these are the coffee beans, roasted by ourselves. The King's father allowed us to take them home.
And finally, let's capture the memorable moments with Father Luang Aran and two new friends.
One of them is also a fan page #ฅนชอบเที่ยว.^^
