Chiang Rai is a popular tourist destination, especially during the winter months when the weather is cool and the mountains are beautiful. This trip to Chiang Rai was a special one, as it was a chance to take my parents on a vacation. Since it was a trip for senior citizens, there were no plans for strenuous activities such as mountain climbing or waterfall trekking.
Our accommodation was at De Hug in Chiang Rai city. Reviews and prices can be found on various booking websites. The breakfast was delicious, the accommodation was clean, and it was conveniently located for day trips or walks to the walking street. The hotel can call a two-wheeled taxi for you, which is a convenient service. We used this service so often that we asked for the driver's business card so we could call him directly. You can use his services too. He drives in Chiang Rai and offers friendly prices and safe driving. If you are interested, you can request his number via private message.
The first day of the trip began at Singha Park, which is not far from the city center. Singha Park provides a shuttle service to take visitors inside, or you can drive your own car. There are many interesting activities inside, but we were most interested in renting bicycles. However, it wasn't the most enjoyable experience because we started cycling at 11 am, when the weather was extremely hot. Nevertheless, we got a good sweat going. For those who enjoy cycling, this is definitely a place you should visit. The small and large cycling loops offer beautiful and shady scenery, and most importantly, they are safe.
A landmark that attracts many visitors for photography.

In the afternoon, we visited the White Temple and the Black House, which are truly popular tourist destinations. There were many Chinese tourists, and even the fruit shops had signs in Chinese. It felt like we had been transported to China, with more Chinese tourists than Thai tourists.
Wat Rong Khun, a hidden corner where few venture. It took a while to find this peaceful spot.

On another day of our trip, we chose to visit Choui Fong Tea Plantation in the morning to experience the fresh air and observe the locals picking tea leaves. We were eager to participate in the tea picking ourselves, and were told that the morning was the best time to do so. We were well-prepared, having purchased northern-style clothing beforehand. Our goal for the day was to pick tea at Choui Fong and enjoy delicious green tea cake. We arrived early, before the crowds, allowing us to fully appreciate the stunning scenery. Choui Fong Tea Plantation is vast, stretching as far as the eye can see. It was truly worth the journey, proving that we don't need to travel far to Korea when our own country has so much to offer. After our visit to the tea plantation, we couldn't resist visiting another popular Chiang Rai destination: Doi Tung. Despite the crowds, the beautiful flowers never fail to impress. It was a worthwhile visit, even with the large number of tourists.
The path leading up is already magnificent.
Along the way, you will encounter villagers picking tea.
Here we go, let's join the fun!
Matcha cake and iced tea are truly delicious, I must say.
Don't forget to visit the flowers at the Mae Fah Luang Garden.
