Banyan Tree Bangkok

Mooncakes for the 2018 Mid-Autumn Festival

Hello.

This year's Mid-Autumn Festival falls on Monday, September 24, 2018. Today, I will be reviewing the mooncakes from Banyan Tree Bangkok, which come in a box containing four pieces. Let's go!

The box for four pieces of pastry is almost round in shape, with the bottom slightly cut off to allow it to stand upright. The pastries are placed on two side shelves, two pieces on each side, separated and arranged so that they do not touch each other.

This year, there are three special box sets available: a 2-piece set, a 4-piece set, and an 8-piece mini set.

Available in 8 flavors.

To be tasted as Chinese jujube mixed with walnuts and ginkgo nuts

The standard size piece features a beautifully embossed hotel logo with sharp, vibrant colors.

The dough is thin and not too thick, with a good texture that is not dry or crumbly. The filling is generous and full of flavor, with a variety of textures. The aroma of the spices is fragrant, and the salted egg is fragrant and not too salty, creating a well-balanced flavor. The ingredients are of high quality.

The Chinese jujube filling with walnuts offers a completely different experience. It provides an incredibly smooth, chewy texture and a more pronounced sweetness, balanced by the salty egg yolk. A truly delightful combination.

This year, Banyan Tree Bangkok's mooncakes are packaged in elegant white boxes with gold trim. The boxes have four compartments to separate the mooncakes, preventing them from being crushed. The mooncakes are standard size with thin pastry and generous fillings. The flavors are rich and well-balanced, neither too subtle nor overpowering. Overall, they are delicious.

Thank you very much.

Best,

Do
