During a recent holiday, I had the opportunity to visit Yelo House, an art warehouse located in the heart of Siam. This vibrant space is a must-visit for art enthusiasts, offering a diverse range of experiences, from galleries and workshops to shops and cafes. The atmosphere is truly captivating, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a unique and inspiring cultural experience.
Starting the day with a BTS ride! This familiar view, Mo Chit station, is super cool in the Chatuchak area!
We then disembarked at Siam Station to meet up with a senior and do some shopping before continuing our leisurely stroll towards the Art Gallery, our destination for the day.
We walked and took photos along the way, passing through various areas of Siam. Honestly, this area is perfect for taking photos (or maybe it's because we don't go to the city often, so every corner looks photo-worthy to us, haha!).
As we continue walking along the Saphan Hua Chang Bridge and turn into the alley next to the "Hua Chang Heritage Hotel", we walk until we reach an intersection and turn right… BAM!! We've arrived at our destination for today, Yelo House!
Let's go inside!
Upon entering the store, I was immediately greeted by the shopkeeper. The store was filled with beautiful items, which made me feel excited. However, despite my strong desire to purchase something, my limited budget prevented me from doing so. Therefore, I decided to skip the store and continue browsing.
The interior design is incredibly stylish, with a raw, industrial loft aesthetic. The ambiance is truly captivating, making me consider incorporating this style into my own home decor.
The back door leads to a walkway along the Saen Saeb Canal. This area is adorned with impressive graffiti art, making it an ideal spot for photography enthusiasts. If you're looking for a fun place to take pictures with friends, this is the perfect location.
After walking for a while, we started to feel thirsty because the weather was quite hot on the day we went for a walk. So we stopped by a cafe inside the Yelo House warehouse. It's a cafe called "Hungry Me & Thirsty You", which sells both drinks and food. They also have a special menu.
Here it is! The entrance is right here!
These are the Special Menus, which seem to be all sweet dishes. We are not really good at this kind of food, so we didn't order any. Haha.
The second floor of the shop also has a seating area. I must say that the second floor is a very comfortable place to sit and enjoy the view of the canal. (I really like this kind of window!)
We returned to our seats by the window on the lower floor to wait for our drinks. Watching the people walk by was quite enjoyable.
- Black tea with raspberry
The first glass is here! The refreshing menu called "Black tea with raspberry" is really delicious. The taste of black tea and raspberry syrup are perfectly blended. It's so refreshing!
- Hot mocha
- Hot latte
To combat drowsiness, I opted for two hot coffees: a hot mocha and a hot latte. These two cups effectively alleviated the fatigue brought on by the earlier sunshine.
After taking a break, we continued to the gallery exhibition. On the day of our visit, Yelo House was hosting an exhibition titled "Based on True Stories: A Duet Exhibition by Juli Baker & Jaruwat." Let's take a look at the atmosphere.
Done for today. This place is a great place for anyone who doesn't know where to go or what to do on their day off. You can try visiting this warehouse. If you want to follow the activities here, you can follow the page of Yelo House.
