We left Bangkok around 10 am and arrived in Phetchaburi around noon.

We had lunch at Pen Prik Ped Spicy Noodle Shop.

A popular restaurant with delicious food at affordable prices. It is often crowded, so expect a wait.

The nickname is "Grumpy Vendor." Upon arrival, customers are expected to wait to be seated. When it is their turn, the vendor will take their order. Do not follow up on your order. Your food will be served when it is ready.

The restaurant is located opposite Wat Yai Suwannaram. Parking is available within the temple grounds.

Come and try it out. You'll definitely love it.

Having eaten our fill, we headed to Khao Luang Cave, which is located nearby.

Khao Luang Cave Temple, a prominent tourist destination in Phetchaburi Province.

Besides its historical significance, which reveals various stories and reflects the culture and lifestyle of Phetchaburi people from the past to the present, Phetchaburi also boasts significant religious sites, such as temples and monasteries, especially cave temples built on the numerous hills throughout the province.

Approximately 5 kilometers from the city center, nestled on a small hill with a peak of only 92 meters, lies a cave temple. The ascent to the temple is not arduous, with a gentle slope accessible by car or on foot. This relatively young temple, dating back to the reign of King Chulalongkorn, was built as an offering to his predecessor, King Mongkut. King Mongkut had once visited the cave and was captivated by its beauty, particularly the intricate stalactites and stalagmites adorning the walls. The cave's wide openings allow sunlight to illuminate the rock formations, creating a mesmerizing array of colors. Additionally, the naturally formed crevices provide ample ventilation, ensuring a cool and refreshing atmosphere within the cave, showcasing its splendor in every corner.

During the reign of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V), His Majesty visited Phetchaburi and desired to establish a monastery within the Khao Luang cave as a royal merit for his father. He graciously ordered the creation of additional Buddha statues, among which one specific statue was adorned with the royal seals of the 1st to 5th reigns at its base.

Please pay 30 baht for the ticket before driving your car up.

The interior is very beautiful. I would like to invite you to come and visit. It is not difficult to walk down.

Next, let's visit Wat Khoi.

Wat Khoi, also known as Phra That Chim Plee Phra Setthi Nawakoti, is located on Khiri Rat Ya Road, adjacent to Khao Wang on the eastern side.

The text describes a structure believed to have been built during the late Ayutthaya period. It mentions the construction of the "Phra That Chim Plee Phra Setthi Nawakoti," which is renowned as a "Buddhist art site." The architecture incorporates the "Yant Chim Plee" symbol, resulting in a square-shaped structure with a base measuring 18 meters on each side and a height of 27 meters.

After working up a sweat, let's grab a bite at the famous Owtung Ice Cream shop.

A renowned sugar palm ice cream and lerd song lod shop in Phetchaburi, offering lerd song lod with concentrated sugar and ice cream made with sugar palm syrup for over 60 years.

This restaurant is truly delicious and not overly sweet. I highly recommend it.

It was already 3 pm, so we headed to Chao Samran Beach. We didn't want to arrive too late in the evening.

The Chao Samran Beach, located approximately 15 kilometers from Phetchaburi city, has been a significant tourist destination since ancient times. Historical accounts claim that King Naresuan the Great, accompanied by King Ekathotsarot, visited this beach and was deeply impressed by its beauty. They stayed for several days, leading locals to name it Chao Samran Beach, meaning "The King's Delightful Beach."

Tourist attractions near Chao Samran Beach

Let's stop by Chao Samran Beach.

Next, we will visit the first sand viewpoint before checking in to the hotel.

The first sand spit to form in the Gulf of Thailand, marking the beginning of the eastern coastline's sandy beaches.

The "First Grain of Sand Beach" Viewpoint: A Natural Paradise in Phetchaburi

The "First Grain of Sand Beach" viewpoint offers a breathtaking glimpse into the natural beauty of Phetchaburi. Located on the Pak Bia promontory, this expansive sandy beach provides a serene escape for visitors seeking tranquility amidst stunning coastal scenery.

It's getting late, let's check in. We can explore the area tomorrow.

This is why we are spending the night here.

We booked a Superior Room through Booking.com at 2,000 baht per night.

Upon arrival, the friendly staff recognized us and upgraded us to a deluxe room. They also generously offered us a complimentary dinner, which inspired this review.

The hotel has 27 Superior rooms located in the building, 27 Deluxe villas, and 4 two-bedroom villas.

Let's take a look at the room.

The upgraded room is a deluxe villa with a size of 35 square meters.

This type of bathtub is only available in the Deluxe Suite.

This is a 2-bedroom family room with a size of 100 sq.m.

Next, let's take a look at the Superia room, which is the most affordable room here. It measures 25 square meters.

For our first dinner, we ate at Jeh Miew Fresh Seafood Restaurant, which was about 200 meters from our hotel.

You can walk along the beach to get there. This restaurant serves very fresh seafood at affordable prices and is also delicious.

This area boasts an abundance of fresh seafood restaurants, thanks to the numerous fishing boats that dock nearby.

I woke up early and had breakfast at the hotel, which was included in the room I booked.

After a hearty breakfast, let's embark on an excursion to the "Laem Phak Bia Environmental Research and Development Project."

The Laem Phak Bia Environmental Research and Development Project, located in Laem Phak Bia, Phetchaburi Province, serves as a pilot site for royal initiatives on mangrove development and rehabilitation, as well as a community wastewater treatment plant. The project adheres to the principle of "nature helping nature." Additionally, the area provides local residents with alternative livelihoods through the utilization of natural resources enhanced by the project, such as the use of cultivated plants for wastewater filtration (e.g., Typha angustifolia for weaving) and fishing and seafood harvesting in the newly established mangrove forests.

Wastewater Treatment Methods in the Project:

The project utilizes three primary methods for community wastewater treatment:

Oxidation pond

Constructed wetland

Using mangroves for wastewater filtration

The Environmental Research and Development Project of Laem Phak Bia is located in Ban Pha Nen, Moo 1, Laem Phak Bia Subdistrict, Ban Laem District, Phetchaburi Province, postal code 76100. The project receives wastewater from the Phetchaburi Municipality area to the Khlong Yang Wastewater Pumping Station (next to Khlong Chek Si and Khlong Yang) in Ban Khok Mo, Moo 1, Chong Sakae Subdistrict, Mueang Phetchaburi District. The wastewater is then transported through pipes along the irrigation canal. Upon reaching Bang Kaeo Subdistrict, Ban Laem District, it runs alongside the saltwater barrier road (Riviera Road) until reaching Wat Samut Khot, where it enters the project site.

We then proceeded to experience the salt spa at Kang Han Thong Salt Spa.

The "Golden Windmill" is a large traditional Thai house that has been transformed into the Golden Windmill Occupational Group. This group adds value to sea salt by turning it into an OTOP product for the village. They process the sea salt into a spa salt that helps exfoliate the skin, remove dead skin cells, and moisturize the skin. It also helps to relax the body when soaked in warm sea salt water, which can alleviate fatigue from the day.

It's afternoon and I'm starting to feel hungry, so I'm going to have lunch at Auntie Yhan's restaurant.

This renowned restaurant boasts delicious cuisine and a stunning, spacious interior at an affordable price. Tucked away from the main road, it's a hidden gem that requires a keen eye to find. To reach the restaurant, turn off the main road and drive through the fields for approximately 50 meters. As you approach Chao Samran Beach, keep an eye out for a large sign on the left-hand side (heading towards the beach) that reads "Pa Yan." Turn left 50 meters after spotting the sign. For ease of navigation, using Google Maps is highly recommended.

The menu shows that the food prices are very reasonable.

The food looks delicious and tastes great.

This restaurant is highly recommended. You must come here.

In the afternoon, I returned to the hotel, where they served chilled palm fruit in syrup as a light snack.

For dinner tonight, we ate at the hotel restaurant, which was provided to us free of charge.

This is a southern Thai dish with a strong flavor. Looking at the prices, the food here is not expensive.

The food is very spicy, and the atmosphere is also good.

The atmosphere in the room is pleasant.

That's all.

Come visit Phetchaburi! The food is delicious and there are many places to visit.

Yes, ma'am.
