Snow-covered white fir trees, a cable car ride at an altitude of 3,250 meters, a cup of hot chocolate with a view of the Alps - all of this will make you fall in love with Tyrol.

Tyrol

The Tyrolean region is situated in western Austria, bordering Germany, Italy, and Switzerland. Regardless of the season, Tyrol offers a diverse range of activities for tourists. From riding vintage steam trains and exploring Lake Achensee to hot air ballooning, there's something for everyone. Notably, Tyrol boasts year-round skiing opportunities due to its high altitude and consistently cold climate. Therefore, if you're seeking a unique winter getaway, Tyrol presents an intriguing option.

Flight file

There are no direct flights to Tirol. However, it is easily accessible by car from Italy (4 hours) and Munich (2 hours). Alternatively, you can fly to Munich and then drive to Tirol. Our journey began in Graz, Austria, which is a 5-hour drive away.

Attire

If you plan to ascend the mountain range, regardless of the season, it is advisable to bring a complete set of warm clothing, including a jacket, gloves, and a hat.

The wind was extremely strong and the temperature was freezing cold.

Austrian

The people here are very friendly and approachable. They smile easily and are quick to greet others. A common greeting is:

"Grüß gott" (pronounced "groos got") and "Hallo" (pronounced "ha-lo") are both greetings in German.

However, "Hallo" is likely more popular due to the diverse European tourist population.

Hotel

We chose to stay at Hotel Bergfried in Tux, which offers breakfast and dinner. During the day, snacks are also available. My favorite part of this hotel is the swimming pool. It's not very big, but it's beautifully decorated and has both outdoor and indoor sections. You can even swim outdoors in the snow! The water temperature is around 32-37 degrees Celsius, so you won't feel cold even if it's snowing.

The hotel's design exudes a strong Austrian influence, evident in the music.

And interior decoration

This is a view from the bedroom window, and the next photo is a view from the bathroom window. Don't be surprised that the sky is a different color, as it is the same sky but taken on different days.

Cross-country skiing

Cross-country skiing, known in Thai as "Langlaufen" (รางเล้าท์เฟ่น), is a type of skiing that is ideal for running on flat terrain. It provides a workout for both the legs and arms. Initially, it may appear challenging, but with practice, it becomes enjoyable.

After 1-2 hours, you'll be able to run on your own. It's not difficult and it's actually quite fun.

Wherever you look, it's white with snow. The trees that resemble pine trees are called Tannenbaum (tan-nen-blaum) in German.

As a child, I always mistakenly called it a "Christmas tree." In addition to Langlaufen, there is also snow for us to play with, and this is our first snowman.

Sauna

The hotel also offers a sauna service for guests, which is free of charge. Most saunas in Austria require guests to enter in their birthday suits. While this may be initially awkward, guests can rest assured that everyone respects each other's privacy and no one will stare or pay undue attention.

The interior allows for phone use, but photography is not popular. Next to it is a swimming pool. Personally, I really like the swimming pool here. It's small, but the design incorporates scenic views, making it feel more natural.

The hotel offers a special dinner set during the evening meal. The set begins with champagne, followed by a 7-course meal prepared by the chef. The courses include: an amuse-bouche, an appetizer, three to five main courses served as a single plate, a main course, and dessert.

The dish is served with a small portion of each item, as shown in the picture. The veal looks appetizing, but the buttery meat sauce is a bit rich. Overall, the food here is delicious and flavorful.

Frozen Wand

Upon arrival, the first thing we must do is to ascend to the summit. Today, we will be reaching an altitude of 3,250 meters. Before we begin, we must purchase tickets from the base station. These tickets grant access to three stations, meaning that the cable car will make three stops before reaching the top. The thought of this might be daunting, but fear not, it is not as frightening as it seems.

The cable car ride costs 52 euros, which is roughly 2,000 Thai baht. It may seem a bit expensive, but once you reach the top, you'll forget all about the cost because the view is breathtaking. The cable car itself looks like this. The photo may not be very clear because my hands were shaking from the cold.

We have arrived at Station 1. This floor is not as cold as the others because the sun is shining brightly.

Station 2 is similar to Station 1, but the difference is in the height. From the camera angle, it looks very close to the sky, but in reality, it would take thousands of kilometers to reach the actual sky.

Station 3

This station feels like it's straight out of the cartoon "Elsa," or perhaps a lunar landscape. The extreme cold and the ice covering everything create an otherworldly atmosphere. Most people who come here are skiers, as they can ski down the slopes. However, I'm only at Level 1, so I'll take the same route down that I took up. :'-D

There is also a restaurant above, and hot chocolate and warm soup are great for this cold weather.

This is just a small part. If we get out and experience it ourselves, we will see that the world is more beautiful than we think. And there is still much waiting for us to discover. Or there may be unexpected fun waiting for us. And this is the charm of travel. #Take yourself out on a date #Travelbucketlist
