Hello everyone, welcome to our second review!
This is still an old review from last year.
While winter is the perfect time for camping on a mountain, this time we're switching things up and camping by the sea.
We'll be taking a relaxing train ride and exploring the area without spending more than 1,000 baht.
Join us as we review the super cool Baan Na Ton Chan Homestay:

Looking for a peaceful getaway?
If you're not a fan of crowds, competition, or prefer a slower pace, this is the place for you. With just 2 days, 1 night, and 1,000 baht, you can take a relaxing train ride to Prachuap Khiri Khan and enjoy a peaceful camping experience by the beach.
There are plenty of activities to keep you busy, and if you're interested in diving at Koh Chan or Koh Talu, you can contact the park at 081-944-9956. (They're stunning, judging from other people's photos!)
Unfortunately, the islands were closed in November 2018 when we visited, so we don't have any pictures to share. But you can check out the park's Facebook page for a glimpse of their beauty:

If camping isn't your thing, don't worry! There are also bungalows available, but be sure to book in advance. We opted for the tent experience, as we were determined to stay within our 1,000 baht budget.

At 6:30 AM, we arrived at Thon Buri Railway Station, feeling a bit confused about what to do next. It was our first time at this station, and we had planned to take the free train to Prachuap Khiri Khan. However, we were surprised to learn that the free train service had been discontinued. With the free train option no longer available, we decided to join the queue to purchase tickets, which cost 60 Thai baht each. We boarded the train departing at 7:30 AM.
This is the correct train, the Thon Buri-Lang Suan train. You won't get lost if you take this one.
The first time in my life I've taken such a long train ride. Today, I was very lucky that there were few people, the weather was good, cool and comfortable, and most importantly, the train left at 7:30 sharp. Bye Bye BKK.
As we arrived early in the morning, we hadn't eaten anything yet. Once we boarded the train, vendors started selling food along the way. We couldn't miss the famous Auntie Jim's noodle soup, which has been featured in almost every review. It costs only 10 baht. It's recommended to buy and eat it as soon as Auntie Jim comes around, as the noodles tend to stick together if left for too long. However, the taste is delicious.
According to the schedule, our journey would take 7 hours. We slept for 18 rounds. During our free time, we opened the train schedule to see which stations our train would stop at. Our destination station, Huai Yang, was the 52nd station. When we arrived at Prachuap Station, we started to prepare ourselves.
We spent 7 and a half hours traveling to Huai Yang Station, arriving about 30 minutes later than scheduled. However, we had anticipated a longer delay, so we were pleasantly surprised by the efficiency of the Thai train system. We were also fortunate that it did not rain, despite the recent monsoon season. The sky was clear, and we were in high spirits. As usual, we were a bit confused about where to go next. Fortunately, a friendly officer approached us, asked about our destination, called a car, and recommended some places to visit. The driver's number is 081-169-9607. The vehicle, known as a "sa-leng," had a roof and seats. The fare to the beach was 80 baht per person.
Upon arrival at Wana Korn Beach, we proceeded to the accommodation registration area. Our goal was to camp overnight in tents, which we rented from the park for 225 baht per tent. Bedding, including a sleeping mat, pillow, and blanket, cost 60 baht per person. We then selected a suitable location to pitch our tents, and the park rangers kindly assisted us in setting them up.
The beach was practically deserted, with fewer than 10 people in sight. It felt like a private island.
Tranquil as intended. The only place quieter than this would be a temple, haha.
After a tiring day, we had dinner at the welfare store, took a shower, and prepared to rest. We hurried to shower before it got dark, as it gets very dark here. We prepared flashlights and Gloy, who is afraid of the heat, brought a rechargeable fan. Before we knew it, we were asleep. (Actually, we were going to stop by Huai Yang Waterfall, but it's not suitable for visiting at the moment. Due to the continuous rain, the officials informed us that there might be danger, so they didn't recommend going. Our trip was canceled today.)

Good morning. Since we went to bed early last night, due to tiredness or perhaps because it was very quiet, we decided to wake up and watch the sunrise today. Yesterday, we walked past a couple's tent, and they had decorated it with beautiful lights. It was incredibly romantic.
Went for a walk on the beach alone because my friend who was supposed to go with me wouldn't wake up no matter how much I tried. Sigh.
We woke up early to watch the sunrise, but we forgot to take any pictures. After our walk, we went back to sleep to rest up for the journey home. The view from our tent was amazing, and we wouldn't trade it for anything. We wish we could wake up to this view every day.
11:00 AM: Woke up, showered, ate breakfast, and went for a walk to take photos by the sea. We came to the sea but didn't have any photos of the sea, haha. This is because there were constant storms before we arrived, so the seawater today is not clear and the wind is very strong. We couldn't go swimming either. However, the view of the empty beach is probably only available during this season.
13.00 Farewell, Wankorn. We set off again with the same uncle, who drove us to hail a van to Prachuap Khiri Khan city. From there, we had to catch another bus to the Southern Bus Terminal. This time, we decided to try a different approach to our seaside adventure. We'll be back, Wankorn, to make things right.
