This post proposes a 2-day, 1-night escape from the rain in Bangkok to Krabi, designed for working professionals who cannot afford to take additional time off. It highlights a different aspect of Krabi beyond its beaches.

Let's go!

This trip was inspired by a promotional airfare from AirAsia for a flight from Bangkok to Krabi for 299 baht, which I saw two months before the trip. It was a weekend flight, so I booked it without any plans in mind. 55555

This trip took place on September 29-30, 2018.

Day 1: We arrived at Krabi Airport at 10:20 am. The flight was smooth with no delays. Our rental car was waiting for us, ready to go.

After picking up the car, we headed straight to Rajarath Steamboat, a dim sum restaurant located about 15 minutes from the airport near the Black Crab Pier.

After a satisfying meal, we continued our journey to Tiger Cave Temple, a famous temple in Krabi known by both Thai and international tourists. The challenge was to conquer the 1260 steps to the top to pay respects to the Buddha statue. However, I must admit that I regretted going there first. As someone who doesn't exercise regularly, my calves were sore for the next three days after descending. It took us 40 minutes to climb up, and slightly less to come down. But the view from the top, with the cool breeze, fresh air, and stunning scenery, made it all worthwhile.

After descending from Tiger Cave Temple, we drove directly to our accommodation. We opted for Pooltara resort Krabi, located approximately 30 minutes by car from the city center. The resort's sign is situated on the right-hand side of the road.

Nestled in a secluded corner of Krabi, the resort boasts a unique location adjacent to the serene Klong Sra Kaew canal, transforming it into a natural swimming pool. This idyllic setting inspired the resort's English name, Pool+Tara, reflecting its tranquil beauty and suitability for those seeking a genuine escape.

Checked in smoothly. Since the Deluxe room we booked was fully booked, the lovely staff upgraded us to a Pool Villa with one large bedroom, two bathrooms, and a living room. After settling in, it was time to play in the water and take photos. Luckily, it didn't rain, so the water in the stream was very clear. There were balloons and kayaks to paddle around, which was a lot of fun.

After playing in the water until our fingers were wrinkled, we were hungry. We drove into town and wandered around the walking street, looking for delicious food. However, the way back might be a bit dark as there are not many streetlights, so it might not be suitable for those traveling by motorbike.

He flanked the water.

Day 2: Railay Beach and Hub Café

Today's plan includes visiting Railay Beach and Hub Café before heading back.

The weather is beautiful this morning.

The hotel breakfast was an American-style buffet with a selection of local dishes. Everything was delicious, especially the sticky rice with chicken.

This resort offers free bicycles and motorbikes for guests to use. Since I'm about to leave, I'll make the most of it by taking a bike ride.

The five-star resort received high marks for its beautiful rooms, pleasant atmosphere, delicious food, and exceptionally friendly staff.

After checking out, we headed to Ao Nang to buy tickets for a long-tail boat to Railay Beach. The round-trip fare was 200 baht per person. We waited for 8-10 people before the boat departed. We chose this option because the journey only takes 15 minutes from the shore, making it ideal for those with limited time who still want to experience the beautiful nature and clear waters.

Despite the numerous hotels lining this beach, the majority of visitors are international tourists, with very few Thai nationals present. We spent approximately one hour strolling and taking photographs before departing.

Eating roti is delicious.

After a 20-minute drive from Ao Nang, we arrived at Hub café, a renowned mountainside café in Krabi. The café boasts beautiful décor and serves both savory and sweet dishes. We ordered a set of French fries, stir-fried fresh shrimp pad thai (which had an unusual but delicious flavor), iced green tea, and iced lemon tea, all for around 400 baht. After finishing our meal, we took photos at every corner of the café before bidding farewell to Krabi.

The weather was perfect, with no rain at all, so we were able to visit all the places we wanted. Even though we didn't go scuba diving, we saw another side of the province that was just as beautiful. See you again #KrabiThisCityIsLovely
