COCA Cooking Contest 2018
Hello.
To foster skills and relationships within the kitchen department of Coca Holding International Co., Ltd., the company organized the COCA Cooking Contest 2018, a cooking competition. This year's main ingredients were chicken and local Thai ingredients, with the remaining ingredients left to the discretion of the competing chef teams, allowing for unconstrained creativity. Join us for the event!
This year's event will be held at Mango Tree on the River, located in the Yodpiman project. This restaurant boasts one of the most stunning views of the Chao Phraya River.
The competition features six teams from Coca Restaurant, Mango Tree, and French Street.
The judging panel will consist of several main and secondary judges. The main judges will be led by Mr. Pitiya Pantuphongsophon, CEO of Coca Holding International Co., Ltd., and Mr. Trevor Mackenzie, Director of International Business Development at Coca-Cola Group. Chef Andy Yang, a Michelin-starred chef from New York, and Do have been honored as honorary judges.
All necessary ingredients, equipment, and utensils are provided. Participants will be given 90 minutes to prepare one dish.
The scoring criteria will consist of three main components: cleanliness, taste, and presentation.
For the sake of appropriateness, only the atmosphere of the event will be presented.

Once a team has finished cooking, they can present their dish to the judges. The presentation should include an explanation of the origin and inspiration behind the dish. This exercise helps chefs develop their ability to present their food in an appealing way to diners.
While awaiting the results, the judges offered various comments and suggestions after observing the cooking and tasting the dishes of all competing teams. These insights will be valuable for the chefs to improve and refine their culinary skills.
The time has come to award the team with the highest score, which is Team 2 from French Street. The remaining teams will also receive consolation prizes.
Personally, Ronaldo also received a commemorative book by Mr. Pitiya with an autograph, which he was very pleased with, as Mr. Pitiya is another legend in the Thai food industry.
Although this event is framed as a competition, its true purpose lies beyond mere rivalry. It aims to foster camaraderie and unity among colleagues within the organization. As a byproduct, it encourages the presentation of diverse culinary ideas and innovations through the dishes prepared. This event serves as a catalyst, reigniting the passion within veteran chefs and providing invaluable experience for their younger counterparts to hone their skills and advance their careers.
