Recently, I have been watching shows more frequently. On October 12, 2018, GoNeverStop had a great opportunity to play a game on Facebook with AirAsia and won two free tickets to see the Guangzhou Acrobatic Troupe's "The Book of Angels." Thank you very much. I really wanted to see it, but I couldn't afford to watch shows frequently. This free ticket is the perfect solution to my problem.
Before watching the acrobatics
We arrived at the AirAsia booth to collect our tickets before the 7:00 PM entry time. We received two beautifully designed tickets that are worth keeping as souvenirs.
The sponsor booths at this event were relatively sparse, and the attendance was low compared to the CIRQUE DU SOLEIL TORUK THE FIRST FLIGHT event. This must be disheartening for the organizers.
Due to the hot weather outside and the lack of entertainment, we decided to enter the venue before the show started. As a result, the seating area was relatively empty. The seating area was not very spacious, and it seemed that only half of the Thunderdome was set up. Therefore, we believe that even those who purchased the cheapest tickets would have a decent view of the performance. Ticket prices for this event were 1,500 / 1,200 / 900 / 700 baht. Our tickets, which cost 1,500 baht, provided an excellent view of the stage.
The seats are as shown in the picture. The legroom is generous, but the seats are a bit close together. If you are sitting next to someone who is large or has broad shoulders, it may not be comfortable.
The air conditioning in the dome was frigid, likely set for a full house. With a smaller audience, it was uncomfortably cold.
World-class acrobatics
Many people may have heard the name of the Guangja Acrobatic Troupe. It was the Guangja Acrobatic Troupe that performed in Thailand when we were children. I'm not sure if it's the same troupe, but I think it is.
This is not a small, local acrobatic troupe. They are a company called Guangzhou Acrobatic Art Theater Co., Ltd., which was founded in 1959. They have been training their performers since they were children, and they have toured all over the world.
The Legendary Swordsman is an acrobatic performance that incorporates the renowned wuxia novel "The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber" by Jin Yong as its narrative. Many people must have seen this performance before.
The performance primarily uses Chinese dialogue, but this does not hinder comprehension due to the clear and easily understood storyline. The audience can readily follow the narrative through the actors' gestures and expressions. Additionally, subtitles in both Thai and English are provided for further support.
Some of the performances featured techniques similar to those we saw at Hengdian Studio earlier this year.
Martial arts are real.
Throughout the performance, we were left breathless by the actors' jaw-dropping stunts. The excitement and thrill were palpable, and we couldn't help but fear for their safety. It became clear that the martial arts prowess displayed in Chinese wuxia films is not mere fiction. The actors' rigorous training was evident in their physical strength, precision, and focus. Even when using props, they moved as if the objects were extensions of their own bodies, with remarkable fluidity and grace.
The stage, lighting, and sound effects in the performance were magnificent in every scene, creating an immersive experience that transported the audience into the world of the Dech Kumpheep Thewada story. The show's creators deserve a resounding round of applause for their exceptional work.
Following the Guangxi Acrobatic Troupe's performance, the audience was given the opportunity to take photos with the performers. The staff was highly professional, efficiently managing the photo queue and capturing numerous high-quality images in a short amount of time.
For those who want to see the Dech Kumpheera Thevada, Guangzhou Acrobatic Troupe, tickets can be purchased at Thaiticketmajor or at the venue. The show runs until October 14th. Don't miss this opportunity to see world-class acrobatics.
