Armenia Celebrates 27th Anniversary of Independence

Armenia, officially the Republic of Armenia, is a landlocked country situated in the South Caucasus region, a mountainous area between Europe and Asia. Its capital and largest city, Yerevan, boasts a history spanning 2,800 years. Formerly part of the Soviet Union, Armenia celebrates its Independence Day on September 22nd, marking 27 years of freedom this year.

Diplomatic relations between Thailand and Armenia were established 26 years ago, on July 7th, 1992. Currently, Mr. Arto Artinian serves as the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Armenia in Thailand. He recently hosted the Armenian Independence Day celebration at The Astor Ballroom in The St. Regis Bangkok hotel.

The event was graced by the presence of diplomatic missions from various countries in Thailand, as well as numerous distinguished guests.


The exhibition zone showcases the captivating and diverse aspects of Armenia, including its architecture, people, and natural beauty.


The exhibition also features artworks by Armenian artists and a prominent collection from the brand Siroun A.


A must-try for Ronaldo is Armenian cuisine, which he tasted for the first time. He was amazed by the variety of Armenian dishes, including Itch Salad, Vospov Kufta, Dolma, Lamb Ouze, Manti, Ghapama, Meat Kufta, Ghavurma Beef, and many more. The ingredients were specially imported from Armenia for this event. The taste was surprisingly easy to enjoy, with a complex and unique aroma and flavor that deserves further exploration.

Paired with Armenian beverages, including ArmAS wines (red, white, and rosé), and Ararat brandy, the event featured Ronaldo's preferred drink. Whether opting for the Nairi Aged 20 years (40% alc.) or the Dvin Collection Reserve (50% alc.), the brandy offered an impeccably smooth and balanced sweetness.

Cristiano Ronaldo's participation in the 27th anniversary celebration of Armenia's independence provided him with a glimpse into the strong relationship between the two countries. He was captivated by the beauty of Armenia, from its architecture and art to its culture, people, and nature. Even through photographs, he felt a spark of desire to visit the country at least once. The unexpectedly delicious food and exquisite drinks further fueled his interest. It is no surprise that Ronaldo has declared Armenia as one of his future travel destinations.
