The Ultimate Koh Chang Getaway: A 5-Star Retreat at Parama Resort

With a long weekend ahead and the scorching heat, a trip to the beach is the perfect way to unwind after a long week at work. It's incredible how time flies when you're engrossed in work, to the point where you lose track of the days and even the month. It's even worse when you're oblivious to the fact that it's a three-day weekend. A friend's reminder was all it took for me to realize this.

Closing the MacBook, we put down our pens and decided to take a spontaneous trip to the beach. This unplanned adventure began with a quick phone call after work to book a hotel. We spent three days and two nights at the five-star Parama Koh Chang Resort, located on the left side of Koh Chang Island.

The journey was delayed due to a three-day holiday weekend. This was my first trip to Koh Chang. My friends left Bangkok at 8:00 AM, picked me up in Pattaya, and arrived at the ferry pier around 3:00 PM. The traffic was very heavy, and there were many people traveling to Koh Chang due to the holiday weekend. If you plan to travel during a long holiday weekend, it is recommended that you plan your time well.

Continuing our journey, we arrived at the pier around 3 pm and waited in line to take our rice truck to Koh Chang. We finally boarded the ferry around 7 pm. Yes, you read that right. There were a lot of people. However, all the fatigue vanished when we reached the island and saw our accommodation. It was stunning and offered a high level of privacy and tranquility, making it the perfect place to unwind.

Upon arriving at the resort, we immediately checked in, dropped off our belongings in our room, and headed out to find something to eat. We were extremely hungry, having not eaten anything since noon. Additionally, the resort's kitchen closed around 9 pm, so we needed to find something to eat before then. For this meal, we opted for something light, as we couldn't decide what we wanted to eat.

The room we stayed in was a SUPERIOR ROOM. The Superior Room is a standard room that is comfortable and comes with a king-size bed, a bathroom with a shower, and a sitting area. Two of the Superior Rooms are located in the main building and offer views of the garden and the sea. I really liked the bed here, it was very big.


Let's call it a night for now. Tomorrow, I'll take you on a tour of Koh Chang. Let's see what there is to see and do. For now, I'm going to rest and recharge. I'm so full that I'm sleepy. Haha!


Waking up to the sunrise this morning. But is 9 am considered morning? Haha, I'm so tired I could barely wake up. Thankfully, I made it in time for breakfast. Breakfast here is included with the accommodation, and we can order from the menu they provide. I'll keep it light this morning, as I don't usually eat much for breakfast. Hehe.


The resort offers fish feeding services. There are many types of fish and turtles.

The resort is divided into two sections: Parama 1 and Parama 2. I stayed in Parama 1, which offers three types of rooms:

  • SUITE ROOM: Each suite is uniquely designed for privacy and romantic views. The rooms feature separate living areas with large sofas, bedrooms with king-size beds, and bathrooms with showers/bathtubs. All suites offer stunning sunset views of the ocean or serene views of the Gulf of Thailand. Maximum one extra bed can be added in this room type.

  • DELUXE ROOM The Deluxe Room is located in three buildings at the back, overlooking the large pool and swimming pool. The Deluxe Room has a king-size bed, a sitting area with a daybed sofa, and a bathroom with a shower/bathtub. The rooms are located on the ground or second floor of the same building, offering a wide-angle view of the pool, lagoon, and ocean. - A maximum of 01 extra bed can be added in this room type.

  • SUPERIOR ROOM This is the room I stayed in.

Standard Room (25 sq.m.)

The Standard Room offers a comfortable and convenient space with a king-size bed, a bathroom with a shower, and a seating area. These rooms are located in the new building and offer views of the garden or the swimming pool.

Please note:

  • "Standard Room Double or Twin Bed" is located in the new building, which is approximately 200 meters from the main building. A golf cart shuttle service is available for guest convenience.
  • Extra beds cannot be accommodated in this room type.

The swimming pool area will have both points.

Before we take you on a tour of Koh Chang, let's fuel up first. This trip has been full of surprises all day long. It doesn't matter if we don't get to see the sights; let's eat first. It's a must. Hehe. Since we're in Trat and staying at a 5-star resort, we have to try the resort's recommended dishes.

If you're looking for a peaceful atmosphere and a private beach, this is the place for you. There are few people, but it may be a bit of a drive to get there. However, the beauty and tranquility are definitely worth it. The location is at the end of Koh Chang, turn left at the Koh Chang Memorial.


After a fulfilling afternoon, we returned to the resort. We learned that the resort offered boat services to nearby islands, so we took advantage of this to visit the white sand island for some swimming.

The seawater is crystal clear.

The resort also offers a fully equipped fitness center and separate saunas for men and women.

Wine lovers rejoice! This resort boasts an extensive selection of wines from various brands. No matter your preference, you're sure to find your favorite here.

The best part is that there is a coffee machine in the room.

The advantage of staying at a five-star resort is that they often provide complimentary items.
