Zipline - Loas Trip: A Thrilling, Fun, and Exhausting Adventure

A Trip to Southern Laos and Ziplining Adventure

A friend invited me on a trip to Laos, specifically the southern region. I immediately thought of Vang Vieng, a popular tourist destination known for its stunning scenery and laid-back atmosphere. However, the trip details revealed something unexpected: ziplining.

Intrigued by the prospect of this exhilarating activity, I eagerly researched ziplining and discovered its thrilling nature. The prospect of soaring through the air, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes, was too tempting to resist.

The trip details, outlined in an 11-minute video, provided further information about the adventure. It promised an unforgettable experience filled with adrenaline and breathtaking views.

With a mix of excitement and anticipation, I embarked on this journey to southern Laos, eager to experience the thrill of ziplining and explore the region's hidden gems.

Trip details as I recall:
Day 1
- Departed from Mo Chit by tour bus, costing 522 baht. I chose the tour bus to arrive at the Chong Mek border early in the morning.
The bus departed at 6:45 PM.
- Upon crossing to the Lao side, remember to visit the Lao Immigration first. There will be a 100 baht fee.

  • You will be picked up by a company car and taken to the village where you will put on safety gear and start walking.
  • You will walk into the forest and stop for lunch, and then zipline down to your accommodation.

  • The accommodation will be in tree houses, and the dining area will be a gathering point with a waterfall view.

Day 2

  • The group was divided into two to participate in two main activities: ziplining and rappelling from the top of a waterfall.
  • The rappelling activity was unknown to the group beforehand, as they had not seen any reviews from others. However, they decided to participate to avoid any regrets.
  • The group chose to zipline first, as there was no fog in the morning, allowing them to capture videos with clear views.
  • The location is prone to frequent rain and fog in the afternoons.

  • After completing the Zipline in the morning, have lunch and go for a rope swing at the waterfall (white and red ropes on the left side of the waterfall).

Day 3
- The majority of the day will be spent hiking uphill (it will be very tiring T_T).

  • After climbing the cliff, we walked through the coffee plantation until we reached the village where we started. We then took a shower and ate lunch, marking the end of our trip (we survived).
