Tips for Traveling to India
- When traveling abroad, be sure to check the dates and tourist attractions, especially if you are planning to visit New Delhi between October 18th and 20th of each year. It is recommended to change your travel dates as these dates coincide with India's National Day or a public holiday. For other holidays, please do some research. However, what is known is that many Indian people will go out to visit important places (it seems that people here do not have many opportunities to travel, or perhaps it is because everyone has the opportunity to take a break on National Day, so they go out to travel, which may depend on the customs of each country). As a result, the queues to buy tickets and enter each attraction are 2-3 kilometers long, which ruined my two-day travel plan in New Delhi. Almost all the important places I had planned to visit were closed.
- Check safety. When traveling abroad, the safety of each country or each attraction is different. In India, it is said that if you encounter a snake and a guest, beat the guest before you beat the snake. This is true because I have experienced it myself. Also, do not carry your bag on your back to prevent your belongings from being stolen.
- Traffic in New Delhi is quite chaotic and there is not much respect for driving rules. Traffic in the city is quite congested, so be sure to allow extra time for traffic jams when going out (traffic outside the city will be more congested).
- Because of the caste system, there are differences in people's living standards. However, I believe that everyone who is born is proud of their own caste.
19 OCT
New Delhi City The capital of India, we changed our travel plans to visit some places, focusing on those that we could possibly get through the crowds to see the famous sights of India. Visiting during their long holiday, we could only drive past.
In India, it is common to observe that men are the primary participants in the workforce, while women's participation is less visible.
The streets are packed with people everywhere, I gave up even before I started my journey.
India Gate, also known as the All India War Memorial, commemorates the Indian soldiers who lost their lives in significant wars. The names of 13,516 soldiers and officers who died on the battlefield are inscribed on the monument. As usual, it was crowded, but entry is free. Be prepared for persistent photographers who will follow you around (just say no, you have your own camera). The main attraction is the India Gate itself, surrounded by open space.
The Presidential Palace of India
The Presidential Palace of India, also known as Rashtrapati Bhavan, is situated at the western end of Rajpath on Raisina Hill, directly opposite India Gate at the eastern end of the avenue. It is a public landmark.
Janpath Market, also known as Janpath Market, is a popular shopping destination in New Delhi, located on a main road in the heart of the city, near Connaught Place. It offers a wide variety of goods, including cotton fabrics, local textiles, embroidered fabrics, handicrafts, jewelry, silverware, brassware, and more. Shopping here requires two skills: the ability to distinguish between genuine and fake products, and the art of bargaining. I visited two markets and one shopping mall, but I recommend this market because it has a wide selection and is easy to navigate. There is also a Tibetan market nearby, which is also worth exploring, but I didn't have the chance to visit it.
October 20
The Taj Mahal is a mausoleum located in Agra, India. It is one of the Seven Wonders of the World and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983. The Taj Mahal is a white marble mausoleum that is widely considered to be the most beautiful monument to love in the world.
Getting there
From New Delhi to the Taj Mahal, we rented a hotel taxi for 15,000 rupees, which included 8 people (including the price of sending us to the airport, the cost of a tour guide, fuel, and expressway tolls. We gave the tip ourselves). The journey took about 4 and a half hours, which felt like a long drive across provinces (very tiring).
Visiting the Taj Mahal
- Purchase an entrance ticket. Foreign tourists must present their passports. (The guide will handle this.) I'm unsure if the crowds are always this large, even on weekdays.
- Collect a bottle of water and a shoe bag at the counter on the left.
- Queue for ticket inspection to enter the Taj Mahal. Women should use the second lane on the left. (The guide helped us cut through the crowd to get to the front of the line.)
- Walk through the body scanner and have your belongings checked. (It's best to avoid bringing any unnecessary items, except for your camera, as the security check can be time-consuming, and some items are not allowed. You can leave them at the cloakroom to save time.)
#We may lose time on some things in exchange for experiencing the wonders of the world.

To visit the Taj Mahal, it is highly recommended to hire a guide through your hotel. The guide will handle all arrangements and provide comprehensive information about the monument. During Indian holidays, access to the Taj Mahal is restricted without a guide. The guide acts as a gateway, ensuring a smooth and informative experience for all visitors.
