Lets go to Koh Samed Island.

Budget: 3500 Baht ( 110$)

3 days 2 nights

Lets begin.

1) Go to Ekkamai Bus Station. And I suggest that you should take van instead of the bus. Because van makes only one stop and they go much faster and are also less crowded than the bus.

2) Ticket for van is 200 bahts. ( so 400 for going and coming back) Take ticket for Ban Phe. (the name of the area where the van will drop you in Rayong).

3) After taking ticket, wait here.

It takes around two and half or three hours to get there.

The van will drop you at the pier area. The pier we got down at was "NUANTHIP PIER"

4) Buy ticket for big boat. It will cost 120 baht for round trip. Officially they have one boat for one hour but Samed Island is only 20 minutes from the mainland. So we always got boat quickly. They will also give you a map.

"IMPORTANT" "NO PLASTIC BAG IS ALLOWED ON THE ISLAND" THIS DOES NOT MEAN YOU CANT BRING IT WITH YOU. JUST THIS RULE PREVENTS LITTERING. IF YOU HAVE PLASTIC BAGS, JUST MAKE SURE YOU THROW THEM IN TRASH OR BRING THEM BACK WITH YOU"

5) ON THE WAY.

Get down here. Be careful.

After you get down, you can either walk (depends on which area you are going to) or take Songtaew (A small truck) we were six people and they took 200 bahts (till Ao Phudsa from us) price might be more if you go further ahead. I think its the maximum they take. If you are alone the price of Songtaew might vary from 40 to 100 baht.

10m from the pier, you can find 7 elevens, make sure to buy any important thing, everything at 7-11 is overpriced by the margin of 5-10 bahts. But inside the island one water bottle costs around 36 bahts ( like the non official mini marts)

The Songtaew will stop just outside this place. You would need to pay 200 baht (if you are foreigner, or 40 baht if you are Thai (per head).

Now here comes the question which do you want to stay at.

One of the first beaches and touristy areas is HAT SAI KAEW BEACH. Filled with tourist, souvenirs shops and crowded Ewwww.

"Samed is huge place" you can easily find the best quieter areas too"

Now the big question, which beach do you choose to stay.

We choose Ao Thaptim (Tubtim) area.

I only have pros for this place.

1) Quiet, fewer people, no rocks ( huge area which has no rocks, safer to play in water)

2) Affordable accomodation. And Almost in center.

100 baht snorkeling gear for whole day, you can find fishes around the rocky area.

We paid 600 baht for per night (it was a fan room) yes, had no drinking water or anything but hello 600 baht, you can see a bits of beach too.
This resort has many options to choose from, so if you are willing to pay you can get good views and all the luxuries too.

They have a nice restaurant affordable food, rice and egg range from 80-100 baht and they have bar for drinks and expensive foods too. Clean and best :)

I bought a milkshake, chicken sandwich and an egg) 160 baht only. Behind me these rooms come with A/C and sea view.

"ANOTHER THING, THIS PLACE IS NEAREST TO THE HIGHEST ROCKS ON THE ISLAND, SO YOU CAN JUST WALK 300M AND ENJOY THE PANORAMIC VIEW. (You can see the first photo)

In the night the fire show is a must. Fire show guys walk to each beach and show you their amazing skills. Make sure to tip them. This area is still near to the beach so you will find yourself near the pubs too and these kinds of activities.

They start around 20:00 pm. Make sure you stay near the beach during this hour to see this.

(280 baht- all you can eat) 2nd day I went to eat this breakfast in the neighboring and very popular Samed Villa Resort.

60 BAHT COCONUT.

80 BAHT THAI TEA ( 2 times, 2 days)

Watermelon juice smoothie 60 baht.

Remember the rocks I was talking about, if you love trekking, you can trekk and visit other beaches too, I did went to other islands in the morning we walked and walked.

Sometime the terrain is higher.

Going to other beaches.

These are beaches are nice but further away.

1) Ao Cho Beach.

2) Ao Vongduean (beach is very nice and has budget and fancy resorts this photo was taken in morning that is why it does not look great)

3) Ao Lung Dum

I wanted to see these bridges so I only took photos of the beaches with bridges. I was hoping to jump off them, This beach is very far. And not so great, I would not recommend it. On the way (trek) to this beach, we saw many beaches that were beautiful. I did not go to any other beach after this.

Do not get fooled by the sign. Its not 100 baht for whole day. Its 100 baht for one hour. 400 baht for one day.

How can I forget this ICONIC MERMAID.

In 3500 bahts, I went and came back. Ate the fancy food ( like smoothies, buffet breakfasts, teas)
