Waking up to the beautiful chirps of birds and lush green plantation at the homestay in Ban Nam Cham was sheer bliss. But the coffee lover in me still needed my caffeine fix.

And so we headed to the taste North Thailand's best coffee at Baan Jang Nak for a sweet little coffee date with elephants. Because Baan Jang Nak in the Northern Thai dialect that means the house full of a lot of elephants.

Greeted by this giant but humble friend (he even let me ride on him), I savoured kahlua latte made with home grown coffee in the neighbouring Thai village. Apart from the cozy cafe set amidst jungle like ambience, the cafe also doubles up as museum and wood crafts workshop.

And their inhouse shop has everything elephants. From elephant shaped silver jewellery to home decor to mugs and even coffee beans!
