I am a Singapore Girl on my quest to find out what Happiness is, and I found the answers through my mum in Ubon Ratchathani. As a foreigner from Singapore, I feel that I have never been treated as an outsider, and instead, I had this indescribable feeling of warmth with the people of Khemmarat.
"Being happy is to be yourself."
Ma-Ma 妈妈 as I affectionally address these beautiful ladies of Khemmarat. 妈妈 means Mum in the English language. The kindness of the Mum of Khemmarat makes me realize I have a family away from home. I feel as if I am their daughter, and somehow, they have become family to me. I never felt the distance between the Khemmarat community and me despite the differences in our culture. The people of Khemmarat are very welcoming, and they show me what genuine hospitality from the heart is. Khob Khun Ka! 🙏🏻❤️
There is no goodbye for us. Because wherever I am, the warmth of Khemmarat will always be in my heart. ❤️
