Hello everyone, I'm starting my first review post for a real trip I took.
This was a short trip earlier this year. "Me and him", the two of us are normal salarymen. This is the only time we get to travel together in a year.
But our schedules don't really match up. I'm in Thailand, and he just started working somewhere else at the end of last year. He only comes back to Thailand every now and then.

And last New Year, he came back to Thailand (yay!), which was the starting point of this trip, "a trip with no plans, focusing on relaxation and happiness."
A sudden trip, but full of good memories for the two of us. // "Valentine's Day is coming soon, where are you going to take your loved one?"

Note 1: I originally planned to go to the southern sea, but I didn't book the flight in time because I changed my mind from going to see him to him coming to see me instead.

Most hotels in Thailand were fully booked, so we ended up here at "Koh Lan", our old haunt, where we had previously visited for a day trip (last year, the two of us went on a day trip and managed to visit almost every beach).

P.S.2 Luckily, I found a good deal on the Hotels.com app. The last room was available, so we decided to stay here for the night.

If you like it, please support me.

Let's get started.
Our trip is a short one, from Bangkok to Pattaya, which normally takes about 2.5 hours to get there.
But this time, we had to wait for a van for 5 hours because we were traveling during the New Year and there weren't enough vehicles.

We took a van from Victory Monument to Koh Larn (December 31, 2015). We arrived at Victory Monument at 8:30 am and immediately bought tickets. Luckily, we had already booked our accommodation. The driver told us that if we missed the last ferry, we could take a speedboat to the island. (The van fare was 100 baht per person.)

While waiting for the car until two o'clock, we went to find something to eat while waiting. So we went to eat steak at EAT AM ARE, our usual place. He likes it (delicious and not expensive).

We sat and talked, playing around until almost 3 pm, then we went to get on the van at the van station.

We fell asleep as soon as we got on the bus and slept all the way to Pattaya. (This time, we had to walk to the pier ourselves. The van couldn't enter Laem Bali Hai because there was a countdown event. We arrived when it was already dark and rushed to catch the last boat. We were so relieved.)

And here are our travel companions to the island. It's already dark.

(The boat fare is 30 baht per person. Please pay before boarding the boat.)

It took 45 minutes to cross to the island. When we arrived, we rushed to the hotel, dropped off our things, and went out to find something to eat. We were so hungry!

We booked a hotel at B Orchids Pool Villa, not far from the pier in front of the house, less than 10 minutes walk. (I will review it later and bring you pictures of the hotel atmosphere.)

We originally planned to go to the temple on the island to chant across the year, but when we arrived at the accommodation, we ate a full meal + were tired from the journey, and accidentally fell asleep. We were shocked to wake up again when they were setting off fireworks to celebrate the new year. We ended up sleeping through the new year. - -"

Today, we spent a lot of time traveling. So, for this trip, we decided to escape the hustle and bustle and stay overnight on an island instead.

[Day 2] Happy New Year 2016 (January 1, 2016) This morning the weather is nice. We woke up to the warm sunlight shining through the balcony.
We are lucky to be staying in a room on the front building, 2nd floor. The view is better than the houses here.

Our room has a pool view in front, overlooking the sea and Bali Hai Cape in the distance. The back of our room has a mountain view.

(The room is spacious, airy and cool.)

The exterior of the hotel is beautiful. The uncle and aunt who own the dorm are kind and friendly. It's beautiful and I love it.

You can see the full atmosphere of the accommodation at this link http://pantip.com/topic/34769591

Let's continue after a good night's sleep.

This morning (7 am) the hotel served breakfast to the room. They knocked on the door early in the morning. The menu looks very delicious. It's perfect for our trip. Heart-shaped fried eggs

We're full, showered and dressed. We're ready to go! We have to hurry up, lol.

As we only have one day today, we will be exploring everything from eating, sightseeing, and playing in the water. (We wasted a lot of time yesterday traveling) We rented a motorbike from the hotel for 300 baht for 2 days.

We started by riding our bikes to the front of the house to pray together. After both of us had a bad day, we fell asleep past midnight. 555

After everyone finished praying to the Buddha, it was almost noon. We started by crossing to the other side of the island with our guide, to Haad Ta-Hwan beach.

Let's go find something to eat. Last time there was a restaurant we ate at that was delicious (but this beach has a lot of Chinese tourists).

Upon arrival, everything was still the same. We took a walk for a while, and there were still a lot of people. So we went straight to the same restaurant to refuel (for the food on this trip, we went all out, the price was according to our desire, for friends, you can choose a restaurant according to your budget, but we think this restaurant is not too expensive, the taste is delicious).

To end this meal, let's have some fun with these two little ones.

After we finished our lunch, we changed beaches. We have 2 beaches that we both like.

That's "Nuan Beach". Ride back to the front of the house and turn right. (This beach is very peaceful, but this time there are quite a few tourists.)

The reason why we both like this beach is because the seawater is very clear and the sand is very white. So we chose to play in the water here. Most of the people on this beach are foreigners.

If you don't like to travel far to the sea and want to relax, this place might be another option. It's not far from Bangkok at all.

Let's take your two little ones for a swim.

Hey, you know what? We miss you... a lot. Come here and give us a hug, it's been so long since we last saw you.

"Let's go, I'll take you to a place we've never been before," a voice drifted over as we were having fun playing in the sea. My brother had a surprise for me. He then took us up to a viewpoint, which would give us a bird's-eye view of Koh Larn and the surrounding islands.

(Let me tell you first, the way up is very scary, or maybe I'm just afraid of heights 5555 If anyone is going, be careful) The way to this viewpoint is through Haad Saem.

Let's take a look at the pictures. It was really worth it to come up here this time. The view is beautiful and the wind is cool.
On this side, you can see the side of Laem Bali Hai, the point where we took the ferry across.

This side offers a view of the mangrove forest and the stingray building, which houses the control center for electricity generation using wind turbines and solar cells.

This side offers a view of Nuan Beach, where we went swimming earlier.

We snuck down from the viewpoint to take pictures. The view was beautiful, with brown grass.

The last stop is the viewpoint. Before we descend from this viewpoint, let's take a look around.

The descent from the viewpoint was quite steep, and it was just starting to get dark.

We stopped by the market in front of the house. Today we will buy some barbecue to eat on the balcony of our room.

The market in front of the house is like a fresh market. There are many things to sell, but what we are interested in is fresh seafood. We can choose it ourselves. We like to eat squid. As for him, he likes to eat shrimp and crab (here they also cook for you, whether it's grilled, roasted, steamed, you can order it by the kilo and wait for about 30 minutes).

The total cost for this meal is 800 baht (450 baht for 1 kg of crab and shrimp, and 350 baht for 1 kg of squid with eggs).

After we got the items we liked, we went back to eat at our room. It was simple, right on the balcony. We sat and talked, ate and relaxed. The air was cool and comfortable. (The two of us were being cute together.)

Our job is to peel shrimp. He is kind, let us eat only the head. Sad 555555

The trip ended comfortably today. It was a great time to relax and catch up.

[Day3] It's the last day of our trip already (January 2, 2016). Our happy time is so short.
If we go back to Bangkok, he will have to go back to work. It will be a long time before we see each other again. Miss you....

The last day on Koh Lan. This morning everything is still the same. The accommodation still serves breakfast as usual. But today the sun is quite strong. So I had to move to eat in the room (I can't stand the sun).

After finishing our meal, we checked out of our accommodation and stopped by Haad Ta Yai beach before leaving.

Let's take a look at the beauty of this beach before we head back with the little one.

After taking enough photos, it was time to check out of our accommodation. We didn't want to leave it too late, as we had a long boat ride ahead of us.

On top of that, we had to wait in line for a van to return to Bangkok. Our boat arrived early, so we didn't have to wait in line. We could just get on the boat (but we had to wait for the van for almost 2 hours, but we were still happy. We understand it's a holiday season).

We are back. There are people ready to see the beauty of this island every second. The island of memories, including the two of us.

Every time you board a boat, don't forget to wear a life jacket for your safety and the safety of your loved ones.

If you like it, don't forget to share the cuteness of our little one and vote for us. Lagan goes with this picture. Let's wait for the next trip to review the memorable trip again.

Wait a minute.

I can't really say goodbye with the picture above because I miss the people I traveled with.

This really made me create this post, so I'd like to leave behind some lonely pictures of the sea and the happiness throughout this trip, as a substitute for missing the people on the other side.

"3 days 2 nights, invite him to count down at Koh Lan: Koh Lan is still the same, but what's added is… nostalgia."

This trip is actually our anniversary trip.

Keep good memories...

Thank you for all the follows and all the good comments.

If there are any errors, I would like to accept all comments and suggestions.

Approximate total expenses

(I didn't take many notes, so I just wanted to do whatever I wanted, as long as it didn't exceed the budget.)

- Food expenses for the first night (on the island) + lunch and dinner on the 2nd day (approximately 800 baht per meal +-)

/ Eat Am Are Bangkok while waiting for the van (about 400 baht)

  • Roundtrip van fare for 2 people (100x4 = 400 baht. We will board the van at Ko Phaya Thai, near Victory Point.)

/ Roundtrip boat fare for 2 people (30x4 = 120 baht)

  • Motorcycle rental on the island for 2 days + full tank of gas (300 baht for the accommodation's motorbike, so I got a special price)

- Accommodation + breakfast for 2 people (4,200 baht + get a 10% discount coupon when booking online through the Hotels.com app)

*The accommodation price might seem a bit high, but if you book in advance, you might get a more affordable price. I booked it last minute, and it was the last room available, so I grabbed it right away. The price is worth the quality, though. It's really good. (There were also families staying here. I saw some houses where they were staying.)
