Hello everyone! After a long hiatus from reviewing, I'm back with a review of this year's hottest tourist destination, Khao Kho - Phu Thap Boek.

I've been wanting to visit this place for a long time, and the reviews in the Blue Room have been tempting me to death (I'm exaggerating, haha).
So I took a whole night to decide that after my midterm exams, I'm going to backpack and chase the sea of mist here!

Arsenal, oh Arsenal!! Our own gallery 555 Come visit us

Note 2: Travel details are interspersed throughout the content, and the total expenses will be summarized at the end of the post.

We won't be able to post them all. If any friends in the Blue Room want to see photos from other trips, they can follow the signs.

Finally, if there are any mistakes, I apologize here.

After receiving the exam schedule, it seemed like the heavens were smiling upon us nursing students, granting us a long weekend from Thursday to Sunday.
So, we decided to invite three more friends to join us on a trip.

Initially, we planned to live a slow life, taking a train to breathe fresh air at Baan Rabeang Dao.
However, the stars weren't aligned in our favor. When we called the owner, he said, "It's full."

We tried again with Baan Kokkod, which was also close to our college. But then, another owner cruelly said, "We're fully booked."

Then, we stumbled upon a review of Phu Thap Boek by a milk tea lover. Seeing their stunning photos, we decided to go to Phu Thap Boek. A friend we knew also joined the trip.
Enough with the complaints, let's get to the point.

24 SEP 2015

Ticket price 344 baht, the last round is 4 pm.

It is currently 10:00 PM. The very cramped seat P.1 bus of Phitsanulok Yanยนต์ company is leaving the Mo Chit 2 bus terminal. All five of us are fast asleep.

25 SEP 2015

Waking up at 4 am, I found myself at the Thung Samo intersection. The whole village was still asleep.

We waited until 5 am but still couldn't find a car to hitchhike to Khao Kho. So we decided to grab some snacks at 7-Eleven. And thanks to our friend Pat's cuteness, we all had the opportunity to do something that's not easy to come by: "use the 7-Eleven bathroom".

This is amazing! The staff were super friendly. After washing our faces and brushing our teeth, we all went to offer food to the monks before continuing our journey. And thanks to the good karma from this act, a kind police officer gave us a ride!

At the Tung Samo intersection, there are villagers who offer rides for a fee. If you don't have your own transportation or can't hail a taxi, you can ask the locals for the price. When we inquired, the price ranged from 600 to 2000 baht.

And then we arrived at the first viewpoint, Khao Kho Post Office.

The view is so beautiful. I'm not complaining anymore. Let's go see the full version. 5555

As the sun began to rise, we decided to head to the viewpoint at Wat Kong Niam. On the way, we took some photos as we walked.

I'm not sure if this is the viewpoint, but we saw a beautiful angle and followed our friends here.

After taking some photos, we tried to hail a car to the next viewpoint, but there were none. As the sun got hotter and hotter, we decided to find a car to take us to Phu Thap Boek instead, as it would be difficult to find a car to take us to Wat Kong Niam viewpoint.

While waiting, a kind uncle gave me a ride to the hospital.

After getting off Uncle's car, we continued walking until we reached the post office. Then, a kind uncle stopped to pick us up. He even took us sightseeing! The uncle said that we were the same age as his daughter, and seeing us reminded him of her, so he decided to take us on a tour.

The uncle kept stopping to take pictures along the way.

Then the uncle took us to the popular coffee shop pino lattae, so we bought him a cake as a thank you for taking the time to take us on a tour. Then we went on to the Pha Sorn Kaew Temple.

[Spoiler] Click to reveal hidden message The chocolate smoothie costs 115 baht per glass, and the cake costs 100 baht per slice. The price of drinks and cakes is quite expensive, but the taste is delicious (for us) 555

Then the uncle took us to Thapsakae Hill. On the way, we didn't take many pictures because the uncle drove very fast. The road was steep and there were many curves. We sat in the back of the pickup truck with P'Em because the front was already booked by our friends. Oops, I'm going to take a picture. 5555

Hmong Market

We arrived at Thop Phet Hill at 2 pm. My friends were all sleeping soundly, but I wanted to take a shower first. I'm so gross right now.

Our accommodation is a dollhouse, similar to a tent, very small. 5555

As the evening approached, our stomachs started to rumble, so we decided to go out for dinner. We originally planned to have a barbecue, but it was too far away, so we changed our minds and ate at a restaurant near the resort (I can't remember the name of the restaurant).

And then we walked around taking pictures together.

And then hailed another car to the inn.

We continued walking until we reached the fork in the road, then we hitched a ride with another car that was going up to the temperature checkpoint.

But it rained, so we couldn't take pictures. We stopped by the "Ta Khop Fah" cafe to relax for a while. Then, my friend M's friend, who we bumped into by chance, drove us back to the resort.

September 26, 2015
Since no one woke up, we sat and watched the sea of fog in front of our accommodation instead.

As the sun got hotter in the morning, we went up to eat breakfast. The accommodation also provides breakfast. You can serve yourself as much as you want.

The fog is starting to spread.

It's a very expensive strawberry on the mountain.

Around 10 am, we packed our things and went to find a car to take us down from the mountain. There was a car going to Phitsanulok, so we hitched a ride to the bus station. This time, we took the Hin Rong Kla National Park route, and the Fast5-like atmosphere made Nan vomit three times and Aef two times. We took some medicine and fell asleep, while P'Em and I were chill, taking pictures along the way like crazy. Luckily, we didn't get carsick. 5555

This trip was our first hitchhiking experience. It was a trip that was both fun, tiring, and discouraging, but we also got to try new things that we had never done before. We made good friendships with people we had never met before, which made getting to know strangers not as scary as we thought it would be. It made us more courageous to travel.

Summary of expenses per person
Round-trip bus fare 344+280 = 624฿
Accommodation cost 800 per night divided by 2/room = 400฿
Pino chocolate shake 115฿
Food 300฿

Total 1439฿

For this trip, I'll leave you with this picture. Don't forget to follow me for my next trip!
