This trip, I felt like climbing a mountain. After thinking about it, I decided to climb Phu Kradueng because I've never been there before. Plus, I need to hurry up and climb before I don't have the strength to climb anymore. 55+ So this trip, I went to "Phu Lom Lo" and "Phu Kradueng". I left on January 21-24, 2016.

Day 1

I left Bangkok around midnight and took the Phitsanulok route. My destination was Ban Rong Kla, and the road was in good condition and easy to drive. I arrived at the Ban Rong Kla Tourist Service Center around 5:00 AM. I parked my car and contacted a 4x4 vehicle to take me up to Phu Lom Lo. The rental fee was 800 baht per car for 10 people, but I arrived early and wanted to take pictures of the sunrise, so I rented it for myself. Around 6:00 AM, I arrived at the parking lot at the top of Phu Lom Lo. From there, I had to walk to the top of Phu Lom Lo. It wasn't a long walk, but I did sweat a little.

Phu Lom Lo viewpoint, the day I went, the fog was very thick, so I missed taking pictures of the sunrise.

The driver then took us to the tiger flower field, but unfortunately it was raining heavily so we could only wait in the car for the rain to ease. While waiting, we took some photos from inside the car 55+

As the rain began to ease, I got out of the car to take some photos. The post-rain atmosphere created a thin mist, which made for a different kind of beauty.

Then travel back down to the tourist service center on the side of the road before reaching the service center, there will be a field of paper flowers where you can park your car and take pictures.

The entire journey that day was accompanied by a light mist.

From the Baan Rong Kla Tourist Service Center, it's just a short drive to the Political and Military School. I stopped by to take some pictures. There are also red maple leaves here, but when I went, the maple leaves were not yet fully red.

On the opposite side of the road, there are beautiful water wheels for taking pictures.

In the late afternoon, the weather was not too hot because there was a light fog. So I went for a walk and took pictures at the Hin Pum viewpoint and Pha Chu Thong in Phu Hin Rong Kla National Park.

From Phu Hin Rong Kla National Park, I drove a long way to Phu Kradueng District to prepare for the hike up Phu Kradueng the next day. As for accommodation tonight, I stayed at Phu Num Fah Resort https://www.facebook.com/phunumfha for 800-1000 baht/night. This place also offers camping services.

Day 2

This morning there was a light drizzle. From here, I could see the entire Phu Kradueng mountain range. I saw some thin fog and thought to myself that if the rain didn't stop, things would get interesting. 55+

I arrived at Phu Kradueng National Park around 7 am and paid the entrance fee of 30 baht. I then parked my car at the parking lot, exchanged my parking ticket, and went to the Phu Kradueng National Park Tourist Service Center to register for the hike. I paid 40 baht for the park entrance fee and 60 baht for the tent camping fee. I then went to the porter service point. Here, I had to weigh the bags that I wanted the porters to carry up the mountain. The cost was 30 baht per kilogram. I attached the tag with my name and the weight of the bag to the bag. I will pay for the service when I reach the top of the mountain.

After leaving my backpack with the porter, I went to the bathroom to take care of business, as the journey ahead was long. On the way up, I stopped to pay respects at the temple for good luck.

The first 5.5 km of the hike is uphill. Once you reach the back of the field, you have to walk another 3.5 km to the tourist service center. Along the way, I saw the porters and I can only say that they are amazing. We were walking empty-handed and we were still panting like dogs.

1 km to the rest stop, Sam Haek. I'm exhausted! 55+ Let me rest for a bit.

Then they went on a long journey, passing through many obstacles.

The latter part of the trail was very steep and had a lot of large rocks, so we had to use both our hands and feet to climb. 55+

And then I arrived at the back of the waterfall. It took me about 3 and a half hours to walk up.

After a short rest, we continued our journey. The distance was not over yet. In the second section, we had to walk another 3.5 km from the back of the field to the tourist service center. It was a flat and easy walk.

Strolling around taking photos, I arrived at the tourist information center.

I then went to the camping area to rent bedding, pillows and blankets (pillow 10 baht/night, sleeping mat 20 baht/night, sleeping bag 30 baht/night, small blanket 30 baht/night, large blanket 50 baht/night).

While waiting for my son, I went to find a place to pitch my tent. I looked for a spot near the bathroom so I wouldn't have to walk far at night.

The porters arrived around 4 pm. I checked the luggage and paid according to the weight that was initially weighed. Then I rushed to set up the tent because in the evening I would go to watch the sunset at Pha Mak Duk.

From the tourist service center to Pha Mak Duk to watch the sunset, the distance is about 2.2 km. I rented a bicycle to ride there. The rental price is 60 baht.

I went back to the service center and found a few restaurants to eat at. Then I went to take a shower and get ready to rest. The weather here at night is quite cool. Late at night, I saw a deer walking around.

Day 3

I slept very well last night, probably because I was exhausted from climbing the mountain. I set my alarm for 4:30 am because the park rangers had scheduled a meeting at the visitor center at 5:00 am for those who wanted to watch the sunrise at Pha Nok Aen.

After returning from Pha Nok Aen, I took care of some personal errands, took a shower, and rented a bicycle to ride around to various tourist spots. The rental fee for the whole day was 360 baht. My first stop was to pay respects at a temple for good luck.

Next, I chose the waterfall route. At this point, I had to park my bicycle and walk in. When I went, the red maple leaves were starting to fall and were almost gone, but there were still some left to take pictures of.

After leaving the waterfall trail, I cycled along the path to the Anodat pond.

Today's destination is to watch the sunset at Pha Lom Sak, but I still have some time left, so I stopped to take pictures along the cliffs.

We stopped to take photos along the cliff until we reached Pha Lom Sak around 4 pm. There are shops and services available at this point. (Pha Lom Sak is about 9 km from the tourist service center.)

In the evening, I sat and watched the sunset at Pha Lom Sak.

After that, the rain that seemed like it wouldn't stop started to fall. The 9 km return trip was filled with both rain and fog. I arrived at the service center around half past seven. I felt sorry for the people who were walking back from Pha Lom Sak, I don't know what time they arrived.

That night, the extreme cold came to visit (during the 3-4 days when Bangkok was cold).

Day 4

It was past 7 am and the weather was extremely cold. I lay in the tent waiting until after 9 am, but the weather was still cold as before. It seemed like there would be no sun, so I decided to pack up my tent and prepare to descend the mountain as planned to return today.

After dropping off the supplies with the porters, I walked through the fog to the back of the field, preparing to descend the mountain. The atmosphere along the way while the fog was down was quite beautiful.

This trip was truly an experience of all seasons, with heat, cold, rain, and fog. It was another one of my most memorable trips.
