Isn't it hard, a life where you have to wake up early for school or work?

It's not easy, is it, to fight with humans leaning against the pillars on the BTS, or to fight with customers who are at level ten.

After a tiring Saturday and Sunday, I don't feel like going anywhere.

If you're experiencing all of this, let me tell you, at this point, Thonglor, Khao San, or Siam Paragon won't help anymore. You need to heal with nature! We only ask for 2 days and 1 night of your time, and only 1,000 baht in your pocket. You don't need a car, because everyone can get there. At "Baan Kok Kod, Kanchanaburi Province", if you're ready... let's go!

I'm guessing many of you have heard of "Baan Kok Kod" or have seen reviews of it before. This time, "Bliss Out There" would like to be another voice in confirming the goodness, peacefulness, and value for money of this place! With its location overlooking the beautiful reservoir, the view is simply breathtaking. The room design is simple and comfortable, and the friendly service makes you feel like you're staying at a friend's house. This made us feel that our 2 days and 1 night at Baan Kok Kod passed by very quickly, and we didn't feel tired at all, not even a little bit.

"Baan Kokkod" is located in Tambon Chong Sadao, Mueang District, Kanchanaburi Province. For those who want to travel by private car, bus or train, you can check the travel methods at this link http://www.baankokkod.com/apps/documents/ As for those who are convenient to go by van, follow us... Start from going to the van stop at Victory Monument. The van queue is in a small alley next to Century Mall. The van fare is 130 baht, no more, no less. After paying the money and jumping on the van, we don't forget to... sleep.

Two and a half hours later, we arrived at... "Siam"... Oh, what's going on here?

I turned around and saw Mahidol University out of nowhere.

Take a deep breath and turn around... Okay, "Kanchanaburi Bus Station".

When you arrive at the bus station, don't exchange money yet. Look for a blue bus with "Kanchanaburi - Erawan Waterfall" written on the side. This bus runs every day, every hour (but locals say it can be several hours in the afternoon). Once you see the bus, you can either get on and pay on board, or pay before boarding, whichever you prefer. But don't forget to tell the driver, "Excuse me, I'm not getting off at Erawan Waterfall, I'm getting off at Pong Pat Intersection, before Thung Na Dam." The driver will then charge you only 40 baht, because if you go to Erawan Waterfall, it will cost 50 baht.

11:40 a.m. The blue bus pulled out of the station. On board were foreigners, Thais who were visiting Kanchanaburi, Kanchanaburi people who were going to visit the waterfall, and Kanchanaburi people who were going home. Every time I use local public transportation, I can't help but smile. It's lovely in a way I can't explain.

40 minutes later, the bus dropped us off at a restaurant near the Pong Pat intersection. We looked left and right, but there were no motorcycle taxis as we had researched. However, we didn't have to stand there confused for more than 5 minutes before we met another kind Thai person. A woman on the opposite side of the road had a motorcycle, and she kindly offered to act as our taxi, taking us to "Baan Kok Kod" for 50 baht each. She even threw in some lovely conversation as a bonus.

We've arrived at Baan Kokod!

After checking in and acknowledging the accommodation agreement, we went to explore this place together… Let's start with the rooms. There are a total of 11 rooms here, each room can accommodate 2 people and can add 1 extra floor mattress. The rooms here are divided into 2 zones: the first zone is the riverside view zone or the "Baan View Kiew" zone. We and our friends stayed in this zone, which has a total of 7 rooms. The rooms do not have air conditioning and do not have private bathrooms. The second zone is the "Rim Sa Buea" zone, which has 2 twin houses, 1 wooden cottage, and 1 glamping tent. The rooms in this zone have air conditioning and private bathrooms in every room, except for the glamping tent (I'll whisper to you that they are building another zone with more rooms, which will be just as good as the existing zones). The prices are varied, depending on the type of room and the time of stay, but I assure you that it's easy on the wallet. If you're interested, you can click on this link to see more details: http://www.baankokkod.com/roomrates.htm

Let's move on to the central area… This is where you can have breakfast, or just sit around and relax, or play with the dogs here. It's all good.

There are stairs to go up and lie down on the balcony. The wind here is very good.

Let's take a look at the shared bathroom... Many people might think that shared bathrooms must be dirty, right? But for the shared bathroom at Baan Kokkod, I can tell you that it's very clean. Personally, I like the bamboo decoration, it gives a natural feeling. In the shower room, there is shower gel and shampoo provided. The only downside is that the water heater doesn't actually make the water any warmer. But hey, at least it gives you that rustic feeling, right?

Oh, I forgot to mention that all the rooms here are connected by bamboo bridges, including the viewpoints and photo spots. As for whether the bridge is beautiful or not, it is beautiful, but it makes a bit of noise when you walk on it. It's a bit inconvenient for people who stay in rooms without a private bathroom at night. Okay, let's take a look at the atmosphere that I brought to share with you.

"The reeds" surround the field this size... I understand now why it's called "Baan Kok Kot" (House Embraced by Reeds).

On a cool afternoon like this, let's go kayaking. At Baan Kokkod, they offer free kayaks and rowing boats. Once you've picked up your equipment, let's go! I must confess that the beautiful pictures you're about to see came at a real cost. I'm embarrassed to say that while the locals were already paddling far ahead, the two of us were still stuck in the same spot. The boat kept capsizing, and we were almost blown to the shore by the wind. It may seem like a relaxing activity, but it actually takes a lot of energy. I hope you enjoy the pictures I'm sharing with you.

After exploring every nook and cranny of this place, I'm starving! Time to find something to eat! The Baan Kokkod accommodation does not provide lunch or dinner. They only offer breakfast, instant noodles, canned porridge, drinking water, and Milo. If you want to eat, you have to order from a nearby restaurant. There are several restaurants nearby, but "Uncle's Shop" is the closest. And if we order food from Uncle's Shop, the staff at Baan Kokkod will go and get the food for us. Wow, that's so convenient and easy! Let's order 2 dishes for 80 baht.

The food was so good that I felt like my stomach was going to burst. And since there was no Wi-Fi or TV, there was nothing to do but chat with friends. But I think it's good for people who are escaping work and the city to relax. We can really be with nature. Most importantly, the air is so good. I don't even know when I fell asleep with the fan on.

We woke up at almost six in the morning to watch the sunrise....

5 minutes passed, no sign...

10 minutes have passed and there is still no sign...

15 minutes have passed, oh sun. Give this movie some respect...

20 minutes... Are you serious? You're not coming up, are you?!?... Fine!! Sleep on!!

Wake up, wake up, wake up! Get up, get up, get up! Brush your teeth and take a shower quickly! I know the bed is super comfy and the weather is perfect for sleeping in, but we don't get to relax like this very often. Let's wake up and enjoy the morning atmosphere! As the saying goes, "An army marches on its stomach," so let's head straight to the common area. And what awaits us there is...

After we finished eating, we talked to the staff about how to get back to the city. They told us that we had to wait for the bus at the Pong Pat intersection, where we got off the bus on the way here. However, the bus wouldn't arrive until around 10:30 am, and then the next one wouldn't come until around noon or later. The staff suggested that we leave Baan Kokkod at 10 am, and they would drive us out. In the meantime, we could walk around and relax.

The feeling right now is, why does one day pass so quickly? I don't want to go back yet. It's like coming to a friend's house, a house with a beautiful view, overlooking the water and mountains. That's enough for happiness... If only nature could be bottled, then when we're tired, we could just open the bottle and it would heal us. Sigh...

As my friends and I were taking photos by the river, the owner of the place came by with his son for a walk. I couldn't help but smile. (:

10.15 am, my brother from Baan Kok hugged us goodbye and sent us with our friends to the pavilion at the Pong Pat intersection. We waited less than 20 minutes before a bright blue bus pulled up in front of us. (If you want to continue to Erawan Waterfall, cross the road and wait for the bus on the opposite side of the pavilion.)

Back at Kanchanaburi Bus Terminal again... Briefly, I paid 120 baht for the bus back to Victory Monument (cheaper than the way here). After using the restroom, I hopped on the bus... It wouldn't take more than 3 hours to reach Bangkok. Even though it was a short trip, we could feel that our bodies were better. Anyone who says that good and cheap things don't exist should try staying at "Baan Kok Kod, Kanchanaburi" for a night.

Summary of expenses

1. Room rate 1,200 / 2 people = 600 baht

2. Van fare round trip 130 + 120 = 250 baht

3. Round-trip bus fare 40 + 40 = 80 baht

4. The motorbike fare from Yaek Pong Pat to Ban Kok Kod is 50 baht.

5. Lunch for 2 days and dinner for 1 day 140 baht

Total 1,020 baht
