Hello everyone, this is my second travel review post.
I hesitated for a long time, wondering if I should write this. Who will read it anyway?
But wherever I go, I often rely on reviews.
Alright, let's do this. I'll write it.
Let's hop on a boat and head to Koh Sichang together.
++ July 23, 2015 ++
My friends and I made a plan to meet at Victory Monument at 8 am, which is quite late for a one-day trip.
I plan to take a van to Tha Maha Nakhon City, next to the Suzuki showroom (as I have read in many reviews).
But !! With laziness, on the way, I met a van from simple van, so I felt easy to go with it, brother.
The bus is about to leave. Any bus will get you there.
Victory Monument, the starting point of the journey
The bus that goes will say Sri Racha (departs every 30 minutes), but if you want to be sure, tell the driver before you get on where you are going.
There are 7 people on the car, leaving space for rolling around.
Bags are ready, hats are ready, people are more than ready.
The bus left at 8.10 am and arrived around 10 am.
According to the reviews, we should have gotten off at Robinson Sriracha, but our driver dropped us off at Wang Hin Intersection.
The driver told us that the Ko Loi Pier (the pier that crosses to Ko Sichang) was very close and that we could walk there.
We saw the pier as we walked, so we believed the driver.
We got off the van. The sun was very strong. Uncle said it was just a little bit. We will fight !!
It's still lively here. I understand that when you see the clock tower, you've arrived. Just a little further.
Looking back at the path I've walked, it seems like a long way.
The clock tower is already there, but this is just the Ko Loy Park. To get to the pier, you have to walk further (Uncle Ao, you said it was close).
We've come this far, so we have to keep going. But let me just complain a little.
I also think that the distance might be due to the hot weather and strong sun. If it were cooler, it would probably be closer.
I can see the way to the port now. This will be the parking lot.
Tears are about to flow. It takes almost 20 minutes to walk to the pier.
The boats depart every hour and are very punctual.
50 baht ticket, 11 o'clock, the boat leaves the shore, Si Chang, we will meet again.
The boat was quite crowded, with almost every seat taken.
++ It takes about 40 minutes to reach Koh Sichang ++
Our initial plan (again) was to ride our bikes around the island, enjoying the cool breeze.
Facing reality, the sun is so strong, I give up. As soon as I get off the boat,
I felt (overly) welcomed by the people of Si Chang, whether it was
"Hey, are you guys riding a motorbike?"
'Hey, Skylab kids, right?'
.. After abandoning the bicycle, our next goal was to ride the Skylab, because we couldn't ride a motorcycle with our friends.
You don't have to walk like that. I'm scared (TT). My impression is negative.
As soon as we said we couldn't drive a motorbike, everyone walked back.
Only one uncle left, Skylab proposed to tell where to go.
Uncle will take you to 4 places, like a local guide.
What are you waiting for? Let's go! ..
Stepping onto the island of Ko Sichang (using extravagant words to)
Motorcycles parked waiting for people to rent
Skylab has a wide variety of tour buses to choose from.
Skylab may be related to the tuk-tuk, but it is bigger and more comfortable. Uncle said he once took up to 11 people.
We were lucky to meet a kind driver who chatted with us about this and that. From being in the red earlier, we gradually started to make a profit.
If you like riding a tuk-tuk, you should try riding a skylab. It's really amazing.
++ Lord Khao Yai Shrine ++
This is the first place on the Skylab route, located on the north side of the island.
The architecture is Chinese-influenced, and because it is located high up, you can see views of the island from every angle.
It's quite high up there.
What is that? Is that a cart? I've never seen one before.
Please let me take a closer look.
Translation:
Halfway through the walk, I was already tired. I looked at the view for encouragement and gritted my teeth and continued walking.
From up here, people look like ants and cars like toys.
I'm not going anywhere. I'll just watch the view here. I like it here. (Hey, they let you come up here to worship the Buddha.)
I'm starting to see tourists who are on the same boat as me, I think we must have the same tour program.
This place houses both Thai and Chinese deities, such as Guanyin and Sangkachai.
The Khao Yai Cave is located inside, next to the Buddha statue of the day.
After the three of us had finished paying our respects, we walked out along the path.
On the way, we came across the path to the Phra Sangkachai Temple, so we continued walking up.
As you walk up further, you will encounter a statue of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V).
Translation:
At this point, we noticed that no tourists had come up. Most of them just went up to the Khao Yai Cave and then turned back.
At this point, there is a staircase to continue climbing. The officer said that there is a footprint of the Buddha and a viewpoint on top.
A debate has begun among friends about whether to go up or down.
I remember walking a long way, stopping to rest several times before we arrived.
See the destination up there? We're almost there.
Exhausted, but it was worth it for the sight before me.
Upon reviewing the footage, I realized that I had not paid respects at the footprint of the Buddha. I was so excited to have reached the top that I simply went back down (I'm in shock!).
We've been here for about an hour. Uncle Noom Lap Lae (the driver's name) is waiting downstairs. Alright, let's go to the next place!!
++ Khao Khad Viewpoint ++
This is a popular viewpoint on the island. Most tourists like us
will come to watch the sunset. It is a landmark that must be visited.
This bridge is called the Wachiravuth Bridge.
As I walked to the end of the bridge, there was a stone platform. The stones were very sharp. I accidentally grabbed one and it left a red mark on my hand.
This popular spot is always featured on Google.
Besides being a viewpoint, it is also a fishing spot.
We love it here. We can relax, play music, and chat with friends.
Looking back, have we really come this far?
Khao Khad viewpoint is a very special place. The photos we took from this spot are our favorites from the entire trip.
The contrasting colors of the azure sea and the black rocks in this area are a photographer's dream. (The emphasis suggests it's truly worth a shot!)
We spent about 1.5 hours here. I would like to stay longer, but I'm afraid we won't have enough time for other places.
++ Chuthathuj Rachathan Palace ++
Formerly a summer palace during the reign of King Rama V. When we arrived,
Uncle Noom Lap Lae said he would wait for us to sleep. This palace is very large.
We had a lot of fun walking around. I confess that I didn't walk the whole way.
This is a map of the palace. As you walk in, there will be a distribution point at the fort. You can pick one up. There are quite a few places in here.
Translation:
So you can walk correctly.
I don't know where to go first, but since we're at the Rama V Palace, we should go to the Phlap Phla Pavilion first.
This place is very shady, with lots of trees. It's easy on the eyes.
Translation:
Walking around without a specific destination in mind.
We started to see some tourists here after only seeing 3 people in the morning.
We are walking to find the Watanna building.
We relied on the signs, so we recommend that you take a map. We and our friends walked around a lot, haha.
Inside the building is an exhibition of important events on Koh Sichang.
The Chuthathuj Rachathan Museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
There are 4 intersections, where should I go next?
Translation:
Let's go to the Ubosot Pagoda at Wat Atsadang Nimit.
Although each place is not very far apart, it is not very close either.
The ordination hall is built in the Gothic architectural style, with an emphasis on black and white colors.
We thought we took photos inside, but the files are gone somewhere (TT).
Translation:
As I walked out, there was a path to a viewpoint, so I had to go (I'm sensitive to scenic views).
After walking a fair distance, you will see a wooden tower with stairs leading up. The view from that side looks like it might rain.
Translation:
Sit and enjoy the atmosphere. On one side you can see the sky, on the other side you can see the trees.
And then we went down to the Saphan Atsadang, which reminded me of the movie Timeline, which was filmed here.
The wooden bridge is now sunless. The sky is overcast and the light has disappeared completely.
I believe everyone has had the experience of jumping five or six times to get the perfect jump shot.
Does Tan know that June has been waiting for him at the pier every day? (wrong story)
The Green House. Don't miss it because we missed it. We were going to walk there but we forgot in the end.
++ Phang Nga Bay ++
We have reached the final destination of our trip. We will be here for about 30 minutes.
When we arrive at four o'clock, we will return to the boat at five o'clock in the evening. It's a pity.
This beach is the liveliest of the 4 I've been to.
The skylab is full of parked cars.
Free canvas on weekdays, but on Saturdays and Sundays, it costs 10 baht per person.
This photo clearly shows that there are rocks next to the sand. As I mentioned before, the rocks are very sharp. There is a sign that says "Danger".
The three of us talked about how the sea here is just so-so, not very beautiful. Or maybe it's because the island has other more beautiful tourist attractions that are more attractive.
Personal opinion!! Don't get attached to it.
I would love to stay here longer, but the fun is over now!!
Translation:
Our 5 hours on Koh Si Chang have come to an end. We recommend leaving earlier if you plan to visit.
If you want to travel without rushing, travel to complete everything, we haven't finished traveling yet.
We were a little disappointed, though. As for food, my friend and I bought bread and ate it on the boat.
So I didn't stop by the rice shop. I just spent more time sightseeing. That's about it. (:
The trip is over. Thank you for reading. If I have the chance, I'll see you again on the next trip.
Sharing stories
We returned to board the boat around 5 pm and arrived at the shore at almost 6 pm. My friends and I called the same van as before.
They told me to go to the center, so I took a tuk-tuk. But when I got on the van to go back, it drove past Ko Loy Floating Park.
If anyone goes, ask first if they can pick you up, so you don't have to go back and forth. And on the way back, the car we're in.
We spent quite a while at Nong Mon. Make sure to allow some extra time (but we don't know if this is the case for every car).
We once read a post that Skylab takes you to each point and then tells you to call them when you're done, so they can pick you up. This wastes time.
We talked to the driver, he said that if there are no people on weekdays, he will stay with us all the time.
But the holiday is as follows. When you are finished, please call (Thank you for not leaving me in the middle of the road).
Summary of expenses
Roundtrip van 200 baht
Round trip boat fare 100 baht
Skylab fee 250 baht (/3)
Tuk-tuk fare 50 baht (/3)
Total 400 baht
(We brought water and bread from home.)
