Indonesiaaaaaaaa!!! There's more to it than we think. After reading hundreds of thousands of reviews, I decided... I have to do it once in my life. I kept thinking about it until my friend invited me to go. I decided in just 5 minutes, let's book the tickets, friend!!!!
After this trip, everyone keeps asking me????
Wow! It's beautiful, it's good, it's beautiful. Expenses, schedule, how to get there, where to go, what to do, I decided to write a review.
This trip was for 5 people, the expenses were mostly very, very, very cheap. Happy!! It's been a long time since I've been able to review it for my friends, so let's get started.
Let's start with the travel plan so we don't waste time.
This trip we went on 19/05/2016 – 25/05/2016 (5 nights 7 days)
All the places we went to
>>>>>Prepare travel items<<<<<
Talking about preparing before coming to Indonesia, I imagine it will be a tough journey, but I have to look beautiful in all weather conditions and postures. The preparation of things is not much, following the general steps of women like this.
>>>>The schedule will be as follows<<<<<
>>>>>Total estimated cost<<<<<
Roughly speaking, it will cost around 15,600 baht per person, which is not a bad deal considering the good food and accommodation. However, this does not include the cost of hotels, transportation, guides, or entrance fees to various attractions. We contacted a local guide named Mr. Adit, who arranged everything for us for a fixed price of 13,500,000 Rp (approximately 36,450 Thai baht) for 5 people. This works out to about 7,300 baht per person, which includes almost everything, so you won't have to spend much extra money.
After months of preparation and anticipation, the long-awaited moment has finally arrived. Let's begin!
>>>>> DAY 1 <<<<<
After finishing work, clearing all tasks, I left the company and took the Airport Link to Suvarnabhumi Airport. I flew with Tiger Air, booking the ticket a year in advance because I thought it was the cheapest. However, there were cheaper options, but it depends on luck and the time of year.
Due to booking a Tiger Air ticket, I had to transit in Singapore from 11:00 PM to 8:15 AM. I looked for a place to sleep on the chairs until morning, waiting to board the plane. I wandered around the airport aimlessly.
>>>>> DAY 2 <<<<<
After landing, we were met by our guide, Mr. Adit, whom we had been in contact with for several months. We highly recommend him. He is an attentive and caring guide who is also a skilled magician and photographer. He is truly exceptional. We found him through numerous positive reviews from our friends.
We started our journey from Surabaya City to Banyuwangi City. The car ride was long, taking about 8 hours. Banyuwangi is a city located opposite the island of Bali. We will stay at Ketapang Indah Hotel for 1 night. The hotel is considered okay, great!
After packing my bags, I went to the hotel to have lunch. When I arrived, I couldn't forget to try the local food. Then I took a long rest.
The beer tastes good, it's the best part of this meal. We won't talk about the food.
Before going to bed, Mr. Adit informed me that he would come to pick me up at 4:30 AM to watch the sunrise. Mr. Adit recommended that it would be very beautiful because the sun rises from the side of Bali Island.
>>>>> DAY 3 <<<<<
After watching the sunrise, we went back to eat breakfast, packed our bags, and traveled to Kawah Ijen. The journey took about 4 hours. We took a long car ride and stopped to buy snacks and take pictures along the way.
We arrived at our accommodation, Catimor Homestay. The accommodation does not have air conditioning or fans, but the air is cool and comfortable all day. We will stay here before going up Ijen.
Upon arriving at the accommodation, we explored the area a bit. Next to the village, there was a waterfall called Blawan Waterfall. Mr. Adit drove us there, which wasn't too far. After that, we walked in a bit and it was quite beautiful.
This small waterfall is located in front of the village. After playing in the waterfall, we returned to rest and prepare to wake up at midnight to start our hike up Ijen.
>>>>> DAY 4 <<<<<
The long-awaited Kawah Ijen has arrived.
Waking up at midnight, Mr. Adit meticulously prepared everything. Breakfast, bread, boiled eggs, and a gas mask were all laid out, ready for the day ahead.
- We bought the mask in Thailand, the brand is 3M. It can block the smell to some extent.
- Headlamp: Use the headlamp that Mr. Adit provided. It was very dark when we started walking at 1 am, with only moonlight to guide us. Most of the time, we followed the person in front of us. It is recommended to use a headlamp as it is difficult to hold a flashlight while climbing dangerous rocks.
- Climbing the mountain is tiring enough, the air is cold and dry, I'm always thirsty, I'll just sip slowly later, otherwise I'll get hiccups.
- The dress code is initially for cold weather, but after walking for a long time, people will take off their shirts because it is hot.
Describe your feelings during the journey.
Oh My God!!!!!!!!!!! The first step was very shaky. Hey! I was excited. I was fit and ready, but when I actually started walking, my face was grim. The path was so steep that I almost had to walk on all fours. Mr. Adit hired a local guide there to take us there. It says 3 km on foot, but when we actually started walking, he said it was another 1 km to go. He said this about 4 times, tricking us into being happy. But it was fun.
Along the way, there will be rest stops with instant noodles, Ovaltine, coffee, and drinks for you to choose from. This is Adit himself, who else would it be?
Let's take a break and keep walking. We're walking in circles. I'm wondering when we'll get there. When I look up, I see a flashlight in the distance. The path is S-shaped, with curves and a 90-degree incline. I'm dead. I'm trying to keep walking.
After walking for a while, we reached the entrance to the mine. It was very steep, but I think I'm good at walking down like this. I walked ahead of my friends and had a lot of fun. After walking for a while, we started to put on our masks because the smell of sulfur was getting very strong. It burned our noses and eyes. We saw a lot of other Thai people walking around. Finally, we reached the Blue Fire viewpoint. We couldn't get close to take pictures, so the guide took pictures for us. The pictures might look a bit like gas stove flames.
After watching Blue Fire, I waited for the long-awaited blue lake. I waited until the sun came up. When the sun came up, I rushed to take pictures. It was really beautiful.
The sky gradually brightened as the sun began to rise.
After having fun taking pictures of the lake, I prepared to walk up. As soon as I looked up, my legs went weak.
How did the miners get there? It's very heavy and they have to carry it up to the mine.
After climbing out of the mine, you will come across this sign. Sit for a while and continue walking. You will come across a paved road. Walking on it feels easier than the way up because most of it is downhill.
If you have any other text you would like me to translate, please provide it and I will be happy to help.
Keep walking...
Walking through the rocky path on the hill, I came across a forest path. The weather was perfect, cool and comfortable. When I walked back, I couldn't believe how far I had come, but I can tell you it was worth it.
Take a break, and by morning you'll be hungry and tired from walking. Mama can help you.
Finally...........I've reached the bottom.
After a tiring walk, we slept soundly until we reached our accommodation and packed our bags to continue our journey to Mount Bromo. This trip will take a lot of time to travel, but it's really worth coming.
>>>>> DAY 5 <<<<<
MOUNT BROMO – SAVANNAH
The journey from Kawah Ijen to Mount Bromo takes about 6 hours. We slept soundly all the way, needing to conserve our energy for the next day. We stayed at the Cemara Indah Hotel, where the temperature was around 13 degrees Celsius. Our clothes weren't enough, so we had to rent jackets because it was so cold. But we loved staying there. The rooms were warm and comfortable, the food was good, but the Wi-Fi only worked in the restaurant. We stayed there for 2 nights.
Mount Bromo
It is said to be the breath of the gods, a place we have been waiting for, when will we get there? Finally, it has arrived.
Getting ready for a relaxed, chill trip, walking around beautifully, everyone thought so. But not this trip, with Mr. Adit, there's nothing ordinary. Wake up at 1 am to get ready. A jeep will pick you up at your place. After reading reviews and doing my homework, I wanted a red jeep. Mr. Adit arranged it for me.
We started walking from the starting point to Penanjakan View Point, which Mr. Adit said was the highest and most beautiful point. We walked from 2 am to 5 am. We will not review the difficulty because we want you to experience it yourself. But I can tell you that it was worth it. The view is worth a million, and the photos are worth a thousand. We tried to capture it for you to see.
This was taken when the sky wasn't quite bright yet.
It's time for the bright breath of the gods.
After soaking in the sight of the divine breath from afar, it was time for us to experience it up close with our own hands and feet. We took a jeep down the mountain, and when we reached the foot of the volcano, a horse was waiting for us in the car. I emphasize "in the car" because they seemed very eager for us to rent their horse, which Mr. Adit had already arranged for us.
The initial ascent wasn't too bad, with proper steps. However, as we climbed higher, the stairs were buried under layers of ash and dust.
Finally!!!! The roar and breath of the gods, it's truly awe-inspiring.
View from above
After taking the picture, she walked down.
The highlight was that we had to walk down this way. At first, I thought we would definitely have to ride a horse back. We ended up walking along the side of the volcano. My God! But it was fun. It's an easy walk for those with good balance. Mr. Adit wanted us to walk here so we could take pictures while we walked. It was great! I mean, 3 steps, 10 pictures. This set of pictures will be a bit large. I've selected these pictures from 1,000 pictures. I had to cut out a lot of pictures because I wanted to show you where to take pictures and how beautiful the view is.
After leaving Mont.Bromo, you will encounter Whisper Sand, which is like a desert.
Upon arrival, Mr. Adit was waiting to take us to the savanna grassland. However, we took a short break to take some photos.
Just taking some photos for fun. Who's copying who, you decide.
There are beautiful ones too...
After taking some photos, we headed towards the savanna grasslands.
We ended our journey for the day and returned to our accommodation. Upon arrival, we showered to wash away the dust, ash, and black rain that had accumulated on our bodies. We had lunch, uploaded photos, and took a long nap until six o'clock. We spent the rest of the evening relaxing. This was the highlight of our trip, as we had been planning this hike for over a year. It was definitely worth the wait.
>>>>> DAY 6 <<<<<
MADAKARIPURA WATERFALL – SURABAYA CITY
Woke up to a chill morning and headed to Madakaripura Waterfall. Dressed casually in shorts and a t-shirt, the weather was perfect - not too hot, not too cold. It was a comfortable, warm day.
Mr. Adit will only drop us off at the entrance of the waterfall, and the local guide there will take us on a motorbike to the next location.
As you reach the entrance, you'll need to put on a raincoat to prevent your clothes from getting wet, as the inside is completely soaked.
The path to cross is dangerous and slippery. The Local Guide had to help us cross.
This is the innermost part of the waterfall, it's very beautiful. There are quite a few people playing in the water.
He said that the water here is drinkable, but you have to be careful because there are small leeches that can attach themselves to you and suck your blood without you knowing.
After visiting the waterfall, we headed to Surabaya City, which took almost the whole day. In the evening, we visited the Cigarette Museum for a bit and stayed in Surabaya City for one night to prepare for our flight the next morning.
The end of the great trip to Indonesia. Yay....!!!
I really don't want to go back yet.
After this trip, we realized that we are more passionate about traveling than shopping, makeup, or anything else. The world is still vast and waiting for us to experience it. This is our first review, so please forgive us for any mistakes. We'll share more stories in the future. See you on our next trip soon!
