Hello.
Recently, I had the opportunity to visit Singapore. As my main purpose was work, I didn't get to visit any of the famous landmarks. The camera I brought along only captured the atmosphere of the area where I was staying. However, I ended up liking the photos I took (well, I like them myself), so I wanted to share them and the places I visited with you.
This time, I would like to introduce a mini guide that will take people who want to take pictures with views that are not landmarks.
Singapore is a small country with a big architecture (this is from our own words, seeing what we see and sharing it). Although the weather is not different from our home, the lushness here is 100 points. Walking anywhere, you can see green in every corner of the street, in the middle of the road, on the buildings, in the middle of the mall. It's really green and shady everywhere. That's why when you have to walk long distances, it's not that hot (compared to our home).
This time, the point I want to share is the road around North Bridge and New Bridge, which is located near Clarke Quay.
Normally, people only visit this area at night, but it's actually just as beautiful during the day. There are small bridges over the river where you can walk and relax. There are also many small buildings and restaurants. It's easy to get here, just take the purple line train and get off at Clarke Quay station, exit at Central Mall.
As you exit Central Department Store, you'll find a chicken rice stall directly opposite. Let me tell you, it's delicious, affordable, and the dipping sauce is spicy! The soup is also amazing! If you're on a budget and looking for a filling meal, give it a try. Or, walk a little further towards the bridge and you'll find the popular Song Fah restaurant, which also serves Bak Kut Teh. An army marches on its stomach, so if you're hungry, grab a bite before you continue!
After a satisfying meal, we walked along the main road to the side with a bridge crossing the river. This is New Bridge Road.
After crossing the bridge, you will find this building. I asked the people there, and they told me that it is a government building. The building is very cute because the glass has many different colors. If the sky is clear, you can take beautiful pictures there.
If you turn around to the other side, you will see the white Buddha Bridge. Oops! No, it's the white bridge on the North Bridge Road side with a beautiful backdrop of towering buildings. I personally love this angle. Actually, if you move the camera to the left, you can also see Marina Bay Sands.
The area under the bridge crossing the river has a pedestrian underpass for people to cross the road. If you go there in the late afternoon, you will see people walking around and taking pictures. In addition, many people there now travel by electric scooters. It's so cool, I wish I could use it in Thailand, but I'd probably get hit on the head.
If you walk across to High Street, which is lined with office buildings, you'll find a co-working space called The Co. It's a modern black building that contrasts beautifully with the green trees.
As you stroll along North Bridge Road, you'll come across a magnificent white church known as St. Andrew's Cathedral. While we didn't venture inside, even from the outside, its beauty is captivating.
After that, if you want to find the white bridge, walk back to North Bridge Road.
As you walk down the bridge, you will see a cluster of restaurants on the left side of the road, in a street called Circular. We once went there in the evening, and it was packed with Singaporeans because there were so many beer and food stalls. If you want to try it, go ahead, but whether it's cheap or expensive, you'll have to find out for yourself. Personally, I like the shophouses in this area. It's like a small neighborhood with different colored buildings that somehow fit together. It feels like being in a foreign country (even though you're already in a foreign country, I heard!!?)
If you don't turn into Circular, it will be a main road with buildings lined up. If you stand on the opposite side, you will get a corner of the building like this. If you want to stand and shoot MV, no one will say anything. It's beautiful.
If you wander around, you'll get a similar atmosphere.
It's a pity I went alone, because if I had gone with friends, I would have had more things to photograph. Anyway, if you're looking for a new place to take pictures, you should check it out.
We think it's a pretty smooth walk, not too difficult. There's also food available, so you can eat your fill comfortably. That's all for today's mini guide that we wanted to share with you.
