The weekend has arrived once again, as it always does. Initially, I intended to stay at home and relax, but I was concerned that I would be wasting my time. I couldn't decide on a destination for an overnight trip outside of the city because I hadn't planned anything in advance. I pondered for a few moments, "Where in Bangkok is worth visiting? I'd like a place with a relaxed atmosphere, plenty of shade, a riverside location where I can relax, read a book, sip coffee, and perhaps practice photography."

And then the answer that had been swirling in my head all that time, "Baan Silapin, Khlong Bang Luang," Yes! I've never been there before, except for reading reviews from other people who have visited. So it wasn't difficult to decide to set off for my intended destination.

For my trip to Baan Silapin this time, I chose Ratchaphruek Road as my route because it's close to my house and I can park my car at the Kuhasawan Temple parking lot. Alternatively, you can also come via Soi Charan Sanitwong 3. From Kuhasawan Temple, walk straight through the Bang Luang Canal community for a short walk and you will reach Baan Silapin.

The Artist's House is a two-story wooden building that serves as an art gallery showcasing paintings for tourists to admire. The ground floor houses a display of small puppets, a book corner, a souvenir and postcard shop, and a coffee shop where visitors can order drinks and sit back while enjoying the scenic views. The peaceful and serene atmosphere by the canal helps to create a sense of relaxation, allowing visitors to soak in the beauty of nature. Occasionally, brightly colored long-tail boats will sail by, carrying foreign tourists to explore this historic site.

The puppet show is scheduled to start at 2:00 PM. Unfortunately, on the day I visited, I missed the show. I was quite disappointed and made a mental note to return to Baan Silapin on my next opportunity to catch the show and soak in the atmosphere of the old canal and the various art exhibits once again.

This is the charm and appeal of this place.
