This time in Chiang Mai, I have a little over half a day left and I'd like to find a place to take some photos.
Many people have probably heard the name "Mae Kampong Village", a small village in a large forest.
Renowned for its tranquility, nestled amidst mountains and rivers.
So I really want to experience it for myself. Is it as peaceful as they say?
At first, I thought Mae Kampong would be far from the city. I tried to find information and
The drive takes just over an hour.
Let's go! Grab your phone, open Google Maps, and let's go!
[Thinking to myself, if I were in a time without Google, without GPS, what would I do?]
The distance from Chiang Mai city to the Royal Project at Doi Inthanon is approximately 51 kilometers.
To reach Mae Kampong village, you must drive through a small, winding road with moderate curves.
But it's not as sharp a turn as going to Pai.
I'm doing okay.
Siri took about an hour, just like (Google) said.

We're here. I drove up and my first thought was, "Where am I going to park?"
The beginning of the village is quite narrow and winding, with no obvious spots to drop off a car and start walking.
Hold on, drive a little further.
Driving straight for a little while longer, we started to feel hopeful again. We saw the Mae Kampong Temple.
Or its full name is Wat Kanthaphrueksa.
Yay! There's parking!! But be warned, you'll need some luck, as there aren't many spaces available.
I met the abbot and had a brief conversation with him. He said,
Mae Kampong is currently very popular. On weekends or holidays, it's packed with people.
In the temple, there must be a "temple dog", right? Sleeping soundly and comfortably.
Quote of the day
Paying respect to the Buddha for good luck.
Walking from the temple, back down to the village, you will encounter a view like this.
This is clearly a million-dollar view for a hundred-dollar stay.
Fortunately, the day the OP went was a weekday, so there weren't many people.
There is a chance to post in the middle of the road, pretending to be the owner of the road like this ;p
Be careful of the cars, please. Walk down a little further and you'll find the village's most popular coffee shop.
"Uncle Pud & Aunt Peng's Coffee Shop by the Stream"
This shop's highlight is its unique storefront design, which is a signature corner.
Where everyone usually takes check-in photos.
Even if I don't find anything to eat at the store, I'll still be there.
Take a break at the shop for a bit.
The interior of the shop is very refreshing and shady.
Inside, there are seats by the stream. It's so cool.
Our guide
Eating waffles by the stream, cool, right? ;p
After resting until the fatigue subsided, let's continue walking. It's not just mountains, there are also views like this.
Our next goal is
"The Birdwatching and Tree-Viewing Cafe" is a coffee shop located in a village, situated at an almost peak point.
Enjoying a cup of coffee and a slice of cake while taking in the breathtaking view of the village from above.
The view from this angle is absolutely stunning, showcasing the entire village.
The taste of the drinks and snacks is average. It's not really my cup of tea.
But if you talk about the atmosphere, the view is full!!
After enjoying two coffee shops, it's time to go home.
It's a shame that I don't have much time this time. Mae Kampong still has a lot to offer.
If you want to come and slow down, this place is perfect.
