It's here! For the festival that many people are waiting to admire the beauty of the Queen of the Rainforest
The festival that will be held once a year, how can you miss it? We will take our friends to see the beauty of the Si Chomphu flower field at
Pa Hin Ngam National Park, Thepsathit District, Chaiyaphum Province.
To welcome the rainy season, Chaiyaphum Province, in collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), is organizing the "Embrace the Mist, Play with the Flowers" Krasiao Flower Festival. The festival will be held from June to September 2016 at Pa Hin Ngam National Park in Thep Sathit District and Sai Thong National Park in Nong Bua Rawe District, Chaiyaphum Province.
'Siam Tulip' fields are a major highlight for tourist attractions during the rainy season and are most commonly found in Chaiyaphum Province.
There are 2 main spots for viewing the Siam Tulip fields: Pa Hin Ngam National Park and Sai Thong National Park.
This year, we were determined to see the blooming fields of Siam tulips. After much planning, we decided to go during the long weekend in July. We opted for a one-day trip, leaving early in the morning and returning in the evening. This time, we chose to travel by private car. If you're not comfortable driving yourself, you can find alternative transportation options in this post by our friend: http://pantip.com/topic/34175485.
With our one-day trip, we wouldn't have time for many other tourist attractions, so we decided to focus on just one: Pa Hin Ngam National Park, which boasts the largest and most beautiful field of Siam tulips in Thailand.
To get to Pa Hin Ngam National Park, we set Google Map to 'Pa Hin Ngam National Park'. We traveled along Highway 1 through Saraburi Province, entering the Chaibadan - Lam Narai - Lam Sonthi - Thepsathit route. At the left-hand fork, turn into Ban Rai. It's about 14 kilometers to the park headquarters. Don't worry about getting lost; there are signs all the way.

Special program during the long holiday in July
We planned to leave around four in the morning to catch the morning mist, but our plan went awry! We woke up late, so we had to leave Bangkok at six in the morning. We arrived at Pa Hin Ngam National Park at almost 11 am (we stopped for lunch before reaching the park). The mist had all disappeared, leaving only the hot sun. Since we came during a holiday, the park was especially crowded. The parking lot inside the park could not accommodate all the tourists, so we had to park our car at a parking lot prepared by the park that could accommodate up to a thousand cars.
However, the new parking lot is quite a walk away, so there is a shuttle service that takes you to the park. At first, I thought the shuttle was free, but it turned out to cost 20 baht per person. Oh well, I guess it's just 20 baht for convenience. It helps the locals out too.
In the blink of an eye, the car dropped us off at the entrance of the Pa Hin Ngam National Park.
On the side of the park office, there is a spot for tourists to take souvenir photos.
For those who are national park stamp hunters like us, you can bring your Park Passport to be stamped at the Tourist Service Center.
The highlights of this national park are three points that we should visit, according to the giant kilometer markers located before entering the park.
Visiting during the festival, the atmosphere is lively like this. Looking everywhere, there are only people .. It's a great way to stimulate the country's economy. Come out and travel together .. The group of local vendors selling local products (OTOP) or agricultural products are also bustling along the way. On the way back, we bought 2 sarongs. Let's cut them into skirts ^^
Entrance fee to the park
Thai people Adults 40 baht Children 20 baht
Foreigners Adults 200 baht Children 100 baht
For those who do not want to walk the 6 kilometers, the park has a tram service available for tourists. However, there is an additional fee of 30 baht per person.
Check out the crowd .. This is just the people queuing up to get on the tram. Today's trip is no joke. It's going to be a long wait to get on the tram. My legs are already tired .. I'm exhausted from the start T^T
And then it was our turn to get on the tram. As the tram started to move, a little tour guide gave us a commentary along the way.
The first stop is Pha Sud Pha Din, which is about 300 meters from the Thung Dok Krachiao. It is the highest point in Pa Hin Ngam National Park and the highest cliff on the western edge of the Khorat Plateau, with an elevation of 846 meters. On the left is the plain in Lop Buri Province. In front are the mountains and forests of the Sap Langka Wildlife Sanctuary, and on the right is the area of Phetchabun Province.
The edge of the earth cliff is the border area of 3 regions: the Northeast, the Central and the North. .. It took a long time to take a picture with this sign, waiting until my gums were dry to take a picture without people.
But how to wait for the shot without getting stuck in the crowd? I really give up on this point... I want to take a beautiful picture of the cliff at the end of the earth, but it's too difficult today.
Let's take a look at the view from the edge of the earth. This spot, if you come at the right time, you'll get a view of the mist floating along the mountains.
The second point is the Tung Dok Krachiao, located about 300 meters to the left of Pha Sud Pha Din.
The Pa Hin Ngam National Park has a walkway for tourists to walk and admire the beauty of the flowers .. You can walk comfortably.
But don't forget to follow the rules of the park.
The wild ginger flower fields in Pa Hin Ngam National Park are divided into 3 main viewing areas. You can request a map from the park office.
Let's get to know the ginger lily first. The ginger lily was originally called the lotus flower, or another name for it is the heavenly lotus. But foreigners prefer to call it the Siam Tulip. It is a plant in the turmeric family and has been dubbed the "Queen of the Rainforest". It is a herbaceous plant with a rhizome in the soil. It will go dormant in the winter and hot seasons. When the rainy season arrives, it will start to produce leaves and flowers. The flower sheaths and flowers will be purple. Ginger lilies prefer cool weather and can be eaten.
The pink and purple flowers of the siam tulip stand out against the lush green grass. The blooming period lasts about two months in a year, depending on the timing of the rainy season. Once fully bloomed, each flower lasts for about 7-15 days before wilting.
The most beautiful time to visit the beautiful Krasiao flower field is in the morning when there is a thin mist covering it. If you come during the midday or afternoon when it rains, you will also encounter this kind of atmosphere.
In addition, the white-flowered ginger lily can be seen at Thung Salaeng Luang National Park. As for the picture, the Pa Hin Ngam National Park has displayed a small area of white ginger lilies for tourists to enjoy.
After admiring the beautiful flowers, we walked to the bus stop to go to the Hin Ngam viewpoint. However, all the trams were displaying signs saying "No entry to Hin Ngam". As a result, we were unable to visit the strangely shaped rocks. The tram dropped us off at the boarding point without stopping at the Hin Ngam viewpoint. Due to the heat, we decided not to walk back to the viewpoint. We apologize for not being able to share pictures of this location.
The beautiful stone field is the origin of the name. The beautiful stone forest is a vast stone field covering an area of more than 1,000 rai, surrounded by a line of dry dipterocarp forest. The stone field is full of large stones with strange shapes, such as animal shapes, ancient castles, cup-shaped stones, FIFA football trophies, mushroom shapes, etc., which were caused by the erosion of wind and water for millions of years.
