It's time to travel again, but I can't think of anywhere near the capital to visit this time. Thinking and thinking, "museums or palaces" popped into my head first, as Bangkok has many museums and palaces open to the public. I started searching for information immediately. It turned out that I could hardly believe my eyes.

"In the heart of Bangkok, there is a palace that is open to the public for free. That is the "Phaya Thai Palace" located in the Phramongkutklao Hospital. I didn't hesitate to drive to my destination immediately.

The Yai Palace is open to the public on Saturdays and Sundays, with guided tours inside the palace at two times: 9:30 AM and 1:30 PM. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the palace is open at 1:00 PM. If you visit on other days or times, you can only tour the outside of the palace.

After signing in at the front of Phaya Thai Palace, the tour guide led the visitors to sit and listen to a lecture while watching a video about the history of Phaya Thai Palace. I can summarize it roughly as follows: Phaya Thai Palace was initially built as a royal residence during the reign of King Rama V. Later, during the reign of King Rama VI, Her Royal Highness the Queen Mother was invited to reside at the palace until her passing. Subsequently, King Rama VI ordered the demolition of the Phaya Thai Palace and the construction of several new throne halls. The palace was also officially designated as "Phaya Thai Palace".

During the reign of King Rama VII, the Phaya Thai Palace was renovated and turned into a first-class hotel called "Phya Thai Palace Hotel". However, after the 1932 revolution, the hotel suffered heavy losses. The People's Party decided to hand over the hotel business and set it up as the headquarters of the Army Medical Corps. Eventually, it became the Phramongkutklao Hospital and is now a museum open to the public.

The Phaya Thai Palace is much more beautiful than I expected. I was not disappointed when I stepped into this palace. It is both beautiful and worthwhile. Because we will be able to see the beauty as we see it today, it will require a lot of money to renovate. Because the renovation of the palace is different from the renovation of ordinary buildings, it requires skilled craftsmen. It is also necessary to research the original design of the buildings and rooms.

Admission to the Phaya Thai Palace is free, but donations are welcome.
