Hello everyone, the rainy season has arrived. Today, I would like to recommend some places to visit during the rainy season in case any of my friends are interested. I went on this trip in July, but it was last year, haha. I just had the chance to write about it exactly one year later.
Please keep the old threads.

I've had the opportunity to visit Chiang Mai many times. Whenever I can't think of anything else to do, I just go to Chiang Mai, haha. This trip was one that my friends and I planned to try visiting Doi Inthanon during the rainy season. Since it's not a popular time to visit and I don't have my own car, it turned into a hitchhiking adventure through the wind and rain throughout our time on Doi Inthanon. I can tell you it was cold and a lot of fun. The place I'm going to this time is "Ban Pa Bong Piang Rice Terraces," a scenic view of rice fields on a high hill, cascading down, surrounded by mountains and mist. Just thinking about it makes me happy. Let's go see it!
The rice fields are surrounded by small and large mountains.
The Ban Pa Bong Piang Rice Terraces are located in Mae Chaem District, Chiang Mai Province. There are two ways to get there: from Doi Inthanon or from Mae Chaem town. I chose to come from Doi Inthanon because I was staying there.
Life in the back of a pickup truck is a different kind of experience. I want to thank everyone who gave me a ride.
Faces of fellow travelers
After passing the second checkpoint, there will be a left turn sign for Mae Chaem District. Turn left!
The road to get here is quite difficult. The first part is still a normal road, but the rest of the way is a dirt road. When it rains, it becomes very muddy. Cars are not allowed, you must use a 4WD pickup truck or a motorcycle.
You can contact the villagers to pick you up. Or you can rent a songthaew to get there. Or if you want to walk, you can do that too. The distance is about 8 kilometers.
As for me, I don't have a car, so I'm walking. What are you waiting for? This is another friend on the trip.
My shoes were soaked and I was completely drenched, almost giving up and turning back several times. But when I saw the view in front of me, it was all worth it. I finally made it!
I had a great time taking photos.
Trees, rice fields, mist, mountains, cool and refreshing air
There are three periods to visit this place. The first period is around July, which is the time when rice planting has just begun. The second period is from September to early October, when the rice is starting to grow and the fields are lush and green. The last period is from late October to early November, when the rice is in ear and turns into a golden field when it is hit by the evening sun. It is very beautiful. If you like any of these periods, you can come and visit. Don't miss it.
As for me, I came during the rice planting season. If you like cool, refreshing weather, I recommend coming during this time.
Anyone who loves taking photos will have a blast here. The views are stunning, and there are endless opportunities to capture the perfect shot.
I secretly took a picture of a couple taking a selfie. When I asked them about it, they said that they had ridden their motorbike all the way here. It was amazing!
Let me take some selfies, hehe.
You can come here for a day trip or stay overnight. There are homestays available for you to stay with local people.
In the end, I would like everyone to come and experience the beauty of Thailand. You will know that our Thailand is as beautiful as any other country.
I would like to say goodbye with this last picture.
Thank you for your good friendship throughout the journey. See you again next time.
