Hello everyone, this is my first travel review post. Please take care of me. If there is any mistake, I apologize.

Have you ever wondered where to go on a one-day vacation besides eating and sleeping in your room? After a stressful week at work, I decided to take a day trip on Saturday. I started thinking about where to go to make the most of my day. After some deliberation, I decided on Lopburi, a nearby city with convenient transportation. I researched the area's attractions and planned my route. With my plan in place, I was ready for my Sunday adventure. (Did I follow the reviews I read? No way! I went off the beaten path and explored in my own unique way.)

On Sunday morning, July 24, 2016, I traveled to the train station at the port to buy a train ticket to visit my beloved friend, the adorable monkey. (I missed the free train, haha, but I bought a paid ticket instead. It's worth the investment!) At 9:13 AM, the train arrived. By 9:42 AM, the train had reached Lopburi station, much to my delight. Upon reaching my destination, I wasted no time in finding a spot to take some photos.

Let's start with the first place.

Location 1: Lopburi Railway Station

(Let's take a picture first, or else they'll say I copied it.)

She is so cute, not naughty at all, and sits still.

Location 2: Phra Kan Shrine

Those who visit Lopburi without paying respects at the Phra Kan Shrine haven't truly arrived. Let me tell you, it gets very crowded on Sundays.

Note: Please be mindful of feeding the monkeys. In areas where it is prohibited, please refrain from doing so for safety reasons. In areas where it is permitted, feel free to feed them responsibly.

Location 3: Wat Nakorn Kosa

Located near the Phra Kan Shrine, you can stop by and take photos.

The fourth site: Phra Prang Sam Yot

Just a short walk across the street, you'll find the Phra Prang Sam Yot, along with a large group of playful and mischievous monkeys. Be careful if you're carrying food, as they might snatch it from you without warning.

(This point costs 10 baht to enter.)

This spot is a must-visit for hipster youths. If you want to be hip and chic, you must take a photo at this spot. You will get the picture you want. (This spot is located at the Malai Rama Theatre, next to the Phra Prang Sam Yot.)

Did you see our friend's house? It's huge! I'm so jealous. Place 6: Duck Noodle Soup, Ko Kui, tastes amazing.

It's noon, so it's time to find something to boost your energy. If you're near the Phra Prang Sam Yot, I highly recommend this restaurant. The food is delicious, and it's conveniently located and easy to find.

Location 7: Pad Thai Nai Yot

The food is delicious and affordable (20 baht per dish). I highly recommend this restaurant. If you read reviews of Lopburi province, you will find many people recommending this place. You can stop by and try it. Besides Pad Thai, they also offer free water and takoyaki.

Location 8: King Narai National Museum

Those visiting Lopburi Province who do not visit the Narai Ratcha Niwet Museum have not truly experienced Lopburi. Admission is 30 baht, which is said to cure all ailments. (Although, I'm not sure how that's relevant.) (P.S. The female ticket seller was very cute. Okay, okay, calm down. 555)

Get ready to explore! The museum is divided into two zones: indoor and outdoor. It's perfect for learning about Thailand's history, innovation, and international trade. (Trust me, you'll be an expert in no time!)

  • Zone in

The interior of the building showcases various historical artifacts, as depicted in the image below.

  • Non-zone

Location 9: Wat Indra

A small temple in the city center.

Location 10: Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat, Lopburi

This is the closest point to the train station. You can get off the train and start exploring right away. However, on the day I visited, this was the last point I stopped at (because I couldn't find the entrance, haha).

This area contains numerous historical sites. Visitors are welcome to explore and take photos, but please be aware of any signs prohibiting entry or climbing. Let's work together to preserve this historical landmark.

*********Mission accomplished! Conquer 1 trip in a mixed style************

Total trip expenses

1. Round-trip train ticket = 20x2 = 40 baht

2. Donation: 50 Baht

3. Entrance fees to historical sites

- Three-spired prang 10 baht

  • National Museum 30 baht
  • Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat Temple, Lopburi 10 Baht (Total 50 Baht)

In conclusion, I would like to encourage all Thai people to travel within Thailand as much as possible. If you have free time or are looking for a place to relax and unwind, I would recommend Lopburi Province as an alternative. It is a city that you should not miss.

I assure you that

If you come here… you will fall in love with this place.

However, if you do not come, you will regret it.
