Train travel retains its charm for many. With ample time, one can enjoy a free train ride, taking in the scenery and experiencing the unique atmosphere aboard, unlike any other mode of transportation.

**The starting point of the route will be at Hua Lamphong Station, the main railway station in Thailand, which will run north to south.**

As a passionate train enthusiast, I often find myself facing the inconvenience of residing in Pattaya. Traveling to my desired destinations necessitates an overnight stay in Bangkok before embarking on the train journey the following morning.

When traveling solo, I often opt for hostels due to their affordability compared to single rooms. However, finding a hostel within walking distance can be challenging. The ones I've checked in the 300-400 baht range tend to be outdated, making for an uneasy sleep. On the other hand, more comfortable options exceed my budget as a budget traveler.

However, this problem was solved when we found a newly opened hotel just a 5-minute walk from Hua Lamphong Station. Yessss!!

Reaching the hostel is a breeze. Simply exit Hua Lamphong Station (MRT side), cross the street, turn left, and walk straight ahead. You'll soon spot the hostel's eye-catching neon sign.

Loftel Station Hostel

The Loftel Station Hostel is a distinctive five-story blue building situated on Rama IV Road.

Upon entering through the large blue door, one encounters the check-in counter.

Submit proof of booking, which can be booked through Agoda, Booking.com, Hostelworld, or directly with the hotel. Fill out a few documents, pay a 200 baht key card deposit, receive the key and Wi-Fi password, and you're done.

The room we stayed in was a 10-bed mixed dormitory with lockers. It was quite spacious, easily fitting our backpack with a laptop inside and still having room to spare. If you don't have a padlock, you can purchase one at the check-in counter for 50 baht.

The bed is equipped with soft pillows, a blue blanket, and a thick, white towel, all in accordance with the hotel's color scheme. Notably, the room is exceptionally clean and has a pleasant aroma. Each bed is separated by a curtain for privacy, and the headboard features a reading light and charging ports, as is customary in most accommodations.

After packing our bags, we immediately went to take a shower, as we were sticky from the 14-hour train ride.

We stayed on the first floor, where each floor has separate bathrooms and toilets. The bathrooms are clean and very new, but one small criticism is that they are narrow and there is only one shower room. For 10 beds, this seems a bit small. However, during our stay, there were not many people, so we didn't have to fight to get in. It was very comfortable.

It took almost 11 pm to finish everything. I'm tired and sleepy, but since I'm already here, let's explore the hotel a bit. Haha.

In addition to the ambiance of the guest rooms and bathrooms, the common area is equally important for us. This is because it is a zone where we can relax, socialize, and meet new friends.

A small coffee shop is also available.

Upon entering the establishment, one is immediately greeted by a selection of small tables and chairs, perfect for enjoying a meal or a drink. While there is no visible refrigerator, it is unclear whether one is available.

In addition, there are computers available for use and books to borrow.

Travel Information and Tourist Attractions Board in Bangkok

Let's take a look at the rooftop. We walk up the stairs, passing single rooms, four-bed rooms, and six-bed rooms.

The concept here emphasizes minimalist decoration in a blue and white color scheme.

It is considered a younger sibling hostel of Loftel 22 Hostel, located in the Talad Noi area.

Although it is a renovated building, the interior is clean and still looks new.

He reached the rooftop after panting his way up to the 5th floor.

The space provides tables and chairs for relaxation and chilling.
The atmosphere under the expressway with cars passing by feels a bit strange, haha.
But for me, I don't think much of it. Sitting listening to music, watching the cars drive by below at night is another kind of chill.

Coin-operated washing machines are available.

Let's take a look at the surrounding area. Although it is close to the BTS and train station, there are not many other amenities nearby.

At least there is a 7/11, but you have to walk back towards the train station and turn the corner a bit further.

Therefore, if you want to buy anything else, it is recommended to stop by first, so you don't have to waste time walking back.

For us, this place offers excellent value for money. It is close to the city center, newly renovated, clean, has strong Wi-Fi, and is reasonably priced (we booked online for 230 baht, the regular price is 250 baht).

The upper floors may be disturbed by the occasional sound of passing vehicles, but the lower floors are quiet and comfortable for sleeping.
Even if it is noisy, it is not a big problem for us because we always carry earplugs when we travel.
I once stayed near Khao San Road, and my roommates came and went, stayed up late, and were noisier than the traffic. Haha!

This accommodation is ideal for those seeking a place near Hua Lamphong Station. Compared to other nearby hotels, it offers a reasonable price, modern facilities, and cleanliness.

This is the last photo I took while riding the train.

My train journey started from Pattaya to Bangkok, then to Koh Mak, back to Bangkok, and finally to Lamphun. I took the train back to Bangkok again before staying here, and then finished my trip in Pattaya.

I admit that I was very sore from sitting so much, but I am addicted to the atmosphere on the train.

That's all for now. See you on my next trip!

If I have the opportunity, I will definitely come back and stay here again.
