Strolling along the Mekong River, it was truly delightful.

We departed from our home in Sri Chiang Mai district around 6:00 AM. We stopped by the market to purchase snacks, milk, butter, grilled pork, and fried pork for breakfast at Huai E-San. Upon arriving in Sangkom district shortly after 8:00 AM, the sun had already risen.

Following the social market, you will encounter the E-tan caravan. Don't worry about getting lost. You can hop on any of the E-tans that you like.

We arrived at the top around 8:30 am. Fortunately, we could still see the sea of mist, but it only lasted for a moment before it disappeared completely.

After enjoying the scenery from above for about 9 am, we went back down. After washing our hands and faces, Jun's father drove us to find a nice view. We opened the back of the car and enjoyed sticky rice with dipping sauce and fried pork.

We continued driving for a while, and then we heard the phrase "We've gone too far, we've gone too far, we've gone too far, we've gone too far." Our next destination was Kaeng Kut Ku, but before we arrived, there was a place to take pictures. The weather was cool, and the flowers were beautiful.

Along the Mekong River, there are several flower gardens. The entrance fee is typically around 20 baht per person.

Next, before we reach the walking street, we must first stop by "Kaeng Kut Ku"

Khood Khuu rapids are large rocks that obstruct the Mekong River, approximately 3 kilometers from Chiang Khan district. The rapids consist of numerous large rocks that have been submerged for an extended period, resulting in a variety of colors. The rapids are nearly as wide as the Mekong River, with water flowing through a narrow channel near the Thai bank. The current is swift. The best time to visit Khood Khuu rapids is between February and May when the water level is low, and the islands and rapids are clearly visible. There are numerous restaurants in the vicinity of the rapids.

Thanks for the great information from the thai-tour website.

A Taste of Chiang Khan: Coconut Delight

The sweet and refreshing taste of young coconut in Chiang Khan is a must-try experience.

Following Khood Khuu, we arrive at the "Chiang Khan Walking Street".

Here... My previous thought was that it wouldn't be this beautiful and walkable. I thought it would be just an old walking street with nothing interesting. But when I actually went there, it wasn't like that at all. I don't know where I fell for its charm. Chiang Khan has incredibly good weather and is very walkable. The walking street has a lot of stuff, and it's all very beautiful. No wonder everyone who comes here falls in love with it. I understand now. We need to change our minds immediately.

Note: This was taken at 5 pm. Imagine how amazing it would be to walk here at 8 pm…

After finishing shopping at the walking street, we prepared to return home. We left the Chiang Khan walking street around 5 pm. We arrived at Sri Chiang Mai district around 7 pm. The sky at that time was very beautiful. It was the most memorable New Year's Day of 2016.
